Partial Spray of a TJ

I've got a 97 Wrangler and I live in a very hot climate. Over many years in the sun, the black paint has spots where the sun has basically burnt through the paintwork, leaving a gray 'fuzz' particularly on the bonnet.

Other than that the car is in great shape and I’m thinking of a respray. I really want to avoid one of those jobs where the garage cuts corners by masking parts of the car, which I will always see afterwards. At the same time, I can appreciate dismantling the car for a professional job may be quite costly. As such I was going to ask for a spray touch up and a polish for the rest of the paint to blend the old and new. Anyone tried anything like this and can comment on the results?

If you want a cheap paint job Macco is the best. But you need to do the prep work such as taking all the parts off that you don't want paint on. Prep is the most important part of a paint job. But Macco has the best painters just because they spend so much time in the booth.

Just a guess, but Dazman you aren't in the States are you? Maaco is U.S. chain of paint shops known for inexpensive paintjobs.
As for a do-it-yourself fix the only thing I can think of is a product I believe is called "ColorBack". I've never used it but it is a pigmented polish/wax blend that makes big claims about restoring faded paint jobs.

Good guess - I'm currently on a secondment in the United Arab Emirates - hence the heat. Thanks for the the explanation though and i'll post a piccy of the result :o !
