I have a 2006 jeep wrangler and i when i was at best buy i bought an adaptar that lets me hook my ipod straight into the stock radio by removing it and attaching the cord. But while i was reading the manual and it said to make sure the radio does not have a security code. I looked through my whole glove box and online but i have no definate answer. So... does a stock 2006 Jeep wrangler radio (not 6 disk) have a anti theft system that requires a security code if the radio is removed or the battery is disconnected.
Thanks for any help and i would like to install the connector kit as soon as possible

Well before I worried about the code I think I would just try to hook up the new equipment to see if it will work without a code. As far as a code goes, another Jeeper will have to help

thanks i did think about that but the only reason i dont want to get an aftermarket radio is because i usually keep the top down for a long time and a new radio would attract alot of attention from people trying to steal them. but thanks for your reply

My Wife needed the code for her radio - just called the dealership and gave them the VIN and they verified the ownership and gave her the code. I think each code is different depending upon the VIN. Call your local Jeep dealer and ask them - that is one piece of info they don't charge for.

Sorry to jack the thread but do you have a link to the adapter you bought? I hope it may work with my sirius radio I have. Also in your searching did it say the units with the 6disc changer had a code?
