this is a really easy question that i dont know
if i have 30 inch tires with rims on my stock TJ, can i get 31 inch tires and keep the rims? or would i have to buy new rims?

As long as the 31" tires are around the same width and of course same inside diameter you shouldn't have any issues.

Hey RatherB,
looking to do the same. Show some pics of your rig please.

31s will fit. I put a 33x12.5x15 on my stock rim as a trail spare.

they can be wider. On a stock rim I think you can fit either a 10.5 or 11.5" wide tire (w/ some steering stop adj.???)

I was talking about a wheels with stock backspacing.

Rather, those look to me like aftermarket rims? Do you by chance know what the backspacing is on them? Assuming the are aftermarket and are 15x8's then you can really put 31x10.50 or 31x11.50 with no issues.

RatherBNarizona 02-05-2007 04:52 PM

sorry i dont know what the backspacing is
I'm assuming the tires are 30's (i'm to lazy to go measure)
next to my friends wrangler, his looks a little bigger and he has 31's
thanks guys for the help! I plan on getting 31's soon!
