Adding cruise control to a JK

Has anyone added cruise to their JK by themselves? the web site selling them says its a 30 minute job, but I have my doubts.

30 min?

...

If you figure out how and it really is a 30 min job, let me know.

Assuming you don't plow in to a dry cleaners or something...

Hmmm! 30 minutes, huh?

Well, here's Quadratec's listing for their Mopar Speed Control Kit:

MOPAR 82210216 - MOPAR® Speed Control Kit for 07-10 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK with 3.8L V6 Engine - Quadratec

... and the PDF for the Install:

http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Installation/75675.pdf

They show 1-2 Hours for Install Time!

Best of Luck!

Cheers!

I have installed the kit. By far, the hardest part is getting the cover off of the back of the steering wheel. I ended up cutting it off (since they supply a replacement, it's no big deal). If you are reasonably handy, it is pretty simple.
It works great.

Here is a less expensive cruse control kit.

I did it and it was an easy job. The hardest part was resetting the radio presets & clock.

Go to images in Google and search Jeep logo, you'll find a bunch of jeep stuff.

You can buy all the parts cheaper if you order from the dealer.
Here's the tread I used for instructions. I think it also has all the part numbers.

The part number for the trim component in that thread was wrong. Has anyone done this for the khaki interior that can share the number with me?

I can get the stalk for 26, the horn switch for 60 and they said the trim piece was around 45. Might just as well order the kit from jeepsarus for 159. Dealer would Dave me on shipping though.

I've added it to my list.

I added cruise to mine about 2 months ago and had I known it was going to be that easy and reasonable, I would have done it long ago. The hardest part in my opinion was getting the horn/airbag off, it can be a tad tricky, the rest is as easy as falling off a log. Once you have it installed, it will even display cruise on your instrument panel when it is on.
