Doors off, Dome light wired

Installed a rocker switch in the lower panel of my dash next to my flood light switch. Jumped out the fuse and installed a inline fuse. works great. I really didn't want to do the springs on the door button thing. Feels so much different with the doors off!!

It is a good feeling with the doors off. Took mines off for the first time this week. Nothing like riding through the town with your foot resting on the footboard, clothes bubbling up in the wind.

Good ideal for the dome trigger switch. I have LED's running under the dash, front and rear seats for interior lights. I'm thinking about getting some blue LED bulbs place in the speakers dome light for the effect of running at night topless and doorless.

I thought there was a way to do this without re-wiring stuff. I can't remember for sure how I did it but now I just turn my dome light on at the switch when I want it on. So even with the doors open or off all I have to do is turn the light switch. Think there was just a fuse I pulled that disabled the "door botton thing". :wavey: Would still like to see pics of what u did though...

fuse# 4 is what I pulled for the door trigger switch@dome lights.
Like you said I just turn the light switch if I need more interior lights. Other than that my LED's have a remote so its just a push of a button.

Yeah, chrisb you just pull a fuse and it disables it...but to have your dome lights automatically kick on with the doors on, you have to put the fuse back in each time which can be a very slight hassle. Most of us just pull it and toss it, but for those who like using their dome lights without manually switching them on, they just put a switch on the wire that goes to the fuse or jump the fuse and switch that wire (hence the reason why the OP added an inline fuse)...then they don't have to pull that fuse every time they remove their doors.

Gotcha...yeah I don't need it to turn on automatically so I'm pretty sure mine got tossed. It would be cool to have the dome light click on each time I open the door though...kinda like when I have my hands full or something. Or kinda like yetserday when I forgot I had turned my dome light on to look for something and came back out to the Jeep to a dead battery. Its ok though, got my buddy to push me for about 5 feet and I popped the clutch to crank it and recharged her back up! :D
