My recovery strap is no longer a virgin

Headin' back from town this afternoon in 96' weather. My canyon is very popular with city folks when the weather gets hot - nice river to cool off in, lotsa swimming holes...

Came around a corner and 3 kids in a Honda were stuck in a ditch, they saw the jeep and pretty much figured their ordeal was over *grins*

Their driving wheels had dug holes and they were high centered, they had a light piece of 1/8" rope best described as unwound from a recovery ball of twine, which had broken twice - no way !!

I broke my 30 ft 2" recovery strap out of it's unopened bag, hooked up, popped it into 4 lo and 3 seconds later they were out :)

The recovery strap was the first thing I bought after buying my tow truck...ummm...jeep, and I'm glad I did :)

They were good kids, doing nothing dafter than I'd done at their age - felt good to help them...........

Last weekend, on my off-road bike, I ran into 3 young teens totally lost, hot & sweaty, 3 miles from their parent's campsite - rode to the campsite, led the parents back to the kids - didn't have to read about 'em on the evening news *grins*

Nice to help, but, not every weekend *grins*

I pulled a DOT worker out of the ditch the other day. The guy wouldn't stop thanking me. (I had just pulled him out when his boss showed up. Needless to say he was happy his boss didn't find him stuck in the ditch).

*smiles* - I kinda think that life is a team sport, we all help each other when we can, and accept help when we need...............

Everyday heroes are what America is all about. If we all paid it forward we wouldn't need economic bailouts or welfare...

Thank you for being a good Jeeper.

Also....Is a 30' 2" recovery strap the recommended length and size to get?
Best brand to get?
I want to pick one up but want to get the right thing the first time!

Thanks!

Snap-straps or kinetic energy straps, work by stretching and springing back. The more it stretches, the better it works.

Masterpull makes the best that I know about; they have the most dynamic action.

I have one like the OP until I save my nickles.
