New Catalytic converter, muffler. Won't start

I just replaced the front exhaust pipe, the catalytic converter, muffler and tail pipe. I tried starting the Jeep this morning and it won't even turn over.

Figured it was the battery... tried jumping it... still nothing.

The only thing I haven't re-connected to the exhaust is the two catalytic exhaust pipes (not sure if that is the right name) coming off the front exhaust pipe which snakes under and then back up into the air filter housing and then the other one that comes out of the filter housing and connects into the catalytic converter. Would not having these two small lines re-connected yet be my problem?

Thanks for any help in regards.

Well if you disconnected them and now the Jeep wont start thats the first thing I would do. I dont know much about YJs but that could be some sort of O2 sensor.

Hook it back up and see what happens

Those are the downstream and upstream check valves. I'm not sure what they do exactly, but i agree, try putting them back on. I know that the THERMAC air cleaning system uses them in some way, but i doubt it's critical. Starter maybe?

Did you do any kind of welding on the jeep? Coudl have popped a fuse. my yj did have an o2 or the check pipes and still ran.

Those are the "down" and "up stream" air injection tubes and have nothing to do with your YJ not starting. Check around the starter, you may have hit into it and knocked something loose. If your battery is at 12 volts the next thing to check is the starter solenoid.

Banged on the Starter with a hammer... (should have considered the ole hammer to starter trick first...) It started right up.

The two lines don't need to be connected to get it to start...
