I'm pissed.

I spent 5 hours in traffic today to get to the Westfield Air Show. Right out side of the parking lot I see a sign that says "Jeep Owners Playground" and I was in my wife's Mazda. It'll be there tomorrow also, but I'm not waiting in that traffic again.

That bites. How was the airshow? I wanted to go real bad, the Blue Angels made an appearance I heard.

You heard wrong. This airshow has the Airforce Thunderbirds, who are always baddass. The Blue Angels will be in portsmouth next weekend. I'll be at that one, too.

As far as the rest of the airshow? I wouldn't know. We missed EVERYTHING except the thunderbirds. Traffic was literally backed up on 90 for 16 miles. It took 3.5 hours to go 16 miles, so that's right over 4 miles per hour.

Dont waste your time! I went on Fri and it was horrible. The owners playground was nothing but a glorified sand pit. "Course" takes 5 min max and I didnt even have to use 4wd. To be honest there were only a few jeeps there at the time so we took turns seeing how fast we could make it around the "course" racing around in RWD and drifting high up the sand bank corners. (odds are it will be busy tomorrow so you will prob have to follow their "rules" and take the course at a crawl in 4wd). Their pitiful attempt at a mud pit was bone dry nearly all day until they dumped in almost an entire water truck filled with water and then it didnt even turn into mud since it was pretty much all sand.

There is another section where you can test new JK Rubis on an off road course and road course. I did both. The off road course is a joke since you do the entire thing in 4Lo (5-10mph max) with a guy next to you. However I did kinda enjoy the road course. It is kinda like a coned off auto-x course. There wasnt really anyone there and the guy I had was pretty chill so I pretty much got to beat the snot out of a JK Rubi around the cones auto-X style. Kinda fun not having to worry about it being your own Jeep (aka I may have flew around the course a bit fast and took out a few cones and pylons) but it was kinda fun. I even got to hot lap it a 2nd time around since there wasnt anyone in line. But if you have nothing else to do go for it but odds are it will be busy and will prob be boring as all hell. If you are real bored and decide to go at least pre-register online so you dont have to wait in line.

alright, I feel a little bit better. I was thinking it would be one of those articulation deals and a a metal hill climb like I've seen on line.

Jp90Talon 08-21-2010 09:27 PM

Nope....they didnt even have an RTI ramp.
