is it better to get the jeep service manual for my tj or would i be just as well buying a hayne's or chilton's manual? if the service manual is better, where would i go about getting one for a decent price?

You can get repair manuals on CD that you can use with your computer. Ebay has them pretty cheap. And Ebay has some in book form too.
