which door "style" do you prefer ?

the full door or the half door with the "flexible" windows ? i like the full doors, but again as with the wheels/tires it will not be a deal breaker..

(i post quite a bit 'cuz i'm excited... while not even sure yet i'll own a Wrangler anytime soon, which well is torture for an inpatient person such as myself :])

jgano23 08-23-2010 07:40 AM

i like the full doors for the winter months and soft upper and lower doors for the spring through fall.

Half doors here and I love them. They are just more versatile than the full doors. Easy to get on an off as well. I have noticed that not many JK UNLM have the half doors.

mrcarcrazy 08-23-2010 08:09 AM

I have full doors, I like them. but I would like a set of 1/2 doors too...

InfernoGirl 08-23-2010 08:10 AM

Half doors..... anything else is pretty much a deal breaker for me. More elbow room, nicer place to rest your arm. Doors off doesn't feel like such a necessity, and funner for wheeling since your feet don't get soaked... :)

JDsDream 08-23-2010 08:11 AM

Bought mine with the full doors. I don't like the way they look. I now run element rails and will be adding the enclosures and soft uppers before winter. If all goes well, I'll be selling my full doors then.

GoldenSahara00 08-23-2010 08:14 AM

half doors with the soft uppers :) theres so many options, unzip windows, take the uppers off, takes doors and uppers off. plus it kinda keeps your jeep lookin half and half with the color/top when its all on. if you get what I mean.

1991 Wrangler YJ Renegade 08-23-2010 08:38 AM

HALF DOORS for sure, as said above, you have sooo many more options. And half doors are sooo much easier to work with if you wanna take them off and store em... The other day, I was cruising the beach, and wanted to take my doors off, so I stopped, lifted em off, and suck them behind the back seat. Easy

530ktm 08-23-2010 08:46 AM

My first Jeep had the half doors. I liked them for the arm position and how low they were with the windows out. I did not like the windows at all when they were in though. When I bought my new Jeep I wanted to get the full doors. It would be nice to have both sets for the different seasons but then you have to store one set. Being that case, I prefer my full doors.

pakman55 08-23-2010 09:00 AM

My first jeep had full steel doors....now that its sold, im looking for one with half doors

JIMBOX 08-23-2010 09:04 AM

:D--Full doors and windows !!

:rofl::rofl: JIMBO

sonofabeach 08-23-2010 09:08 AM

I have half doors and would rather have full hard doors.
For me it's either doors on or doors off so I rarely ride with just the top half off.

Hendy 08-23-2010 09:09 AM

Half doors with uppers with glass sliders windows. Works great except when you go to the drive through at KFC, all the food from the familly meal won't fit through the window...

Blackbeard1718 08-23-2010 10:16 AM

I have both. Full Doors in the Winter, and Half Doors the other 3 Seasons! Best of both door worlds!

Cheers!

toshpate 08-23-2010 10:28 AM

I have had both and I like the full doors, hated the windows on the half doors, you cant "Crack" it like a real door when you just want a little air. and they were way more noisy to me then the full doors. my CJ had slider windows on the full doors which was kinda different

cavediverjc 08-23-2010 10:31 AM

Full doors. For me it's either all on or all off. And full doors are simple to remove. The same 4 nuts hold my full doors that also hold the half doors. And they aren't heavy. Simple on and off.

jskinn27 08-23-2010 11:35 AM

no doors :)

Walkingstick 08-23-2010 12:38 PM

No doors.
but if I had to choose, I would go with either full soft doors or half steel doors with soft uppers.

I have half as well, and I love my sliding uppers from Bestop. Little pricey but came on the Jeep and work great! :)

1/2 doors. Just easier to take off and store than the full doors are, if it's rainning in the morning when you leave and then the sun comes out you can just throw them in the back no prob

Gate53 08-23-2010 01:07 PM

If I was ordering new I'd get the full doors and store them in the garage then pick up a set of 1/2 door to use most of the time.

ParaCAD 08-23-2010 01:31 PM

Half doors...what i got...thinking of getting a set of full canvas doors...

darin.1701 08-23-2010 01:50 PM

Where is the option for NO DOORS because No Doors is the only way to go!

Unless you live in a climate with temperature extremes. Then doors are quite handy..... :D

RatherBNarizona 08-23-2010 04:30 PM

half all the way!
but then again I am from somewhere where it doesn't snow and only occasionally rains :)

Vaultzz 08-23-2010 04:32 PM

I prefer no doors, and If I had a choice in having to have doors then they'd be full soft

rogertc1 08-23-2010 04:36 PM

Half doors rock,

Frat36 08-23-2010 04:57 PM

Full doors during snowy hardtop season, 2-piece soft doors during raining soft top season, and no doors during sunny topless season.

McGridDLe 08-23-2010 07:00 PM

just made the conversion to half doors and love it! I have been looking for a good set since i got the jeep.. They won't be the best in the winter, but their much better for the majority of the year!

inzgary 08-23-2010 07:42 PM

All Jeeps seem to come with full doors unless you order them with half doors. I think soft top Jeeps should have halves and hard tops fulls. I'd rather have half doors since I have a soft top but I don't. I just leave the nuts off the hinge pins so I can just lift the full doors off whenever its nice out. I have soft doors too but they need work so I haven't been using them.
