So I want to completely remove the rust from inside my frame. I have already ordered eastwood rust converter and internal frame coating. I have quite a few flakes of rust inside my frame that are too large to fit through a drain hole. My question is, how have people done this the right way without screwing things up?
In my pictures is my plan, should I cut a flap figure in the bottom of the frame? Just enough to bend down, get the rust out, flush it and weld the flap back up to the frame. The flap won't be removed, just bent down.
Also should I cut the flap before the rear CA mount and flush it from the front? Or do it after te front CA mount and flush it from behind. Most of my rust is in the rear.
Will this work??? Any better ideas?
just how big are these flakes? Though I don't have the issue with my TJ, I helps my son get rid of some inside his Toy by just hooking and breaking it up with baling wire. Wash it down to the hole and rip it out.
Ok now what I think I'm going to do is flush it from back to front because all my rust is in the rear. I'm going to use the two holes I just saw in the very front of the frame. Just gotta find a big enough incline near my water hose lol
I had some good sized rust flakes inside my frame as well. I used a flexible magnet extension that I picked up at harbor freight and pulled them through the bigger holes on the side of the frame. Worked great.
