removing hard top

I have a three piece 2010 Jeep Wrangler Sport hard top.

I don't know if it is a JK, a TJ, or a YJ.

Can I just remove the driver's side and passenger's side tops and leave the larger back part in place?

I don't have a garage, so I don't have any way of using a winch to remove it.

Also, do the doors take the same #40 torx bit that the larger back part of the hardtop does?

Thank you

Steve Thomas

From 2007 to now is the JK model. TJ was before that. Then older is a YJ. But you can remove the 3 pieces individually. Ive heard it is quite easy to take them apart. I would suggest getting a torx set because i know i have used different sized multiple times. With lifting it off, maybe get a couple other guys?

Welcome Aboard, Shipmate! http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v3...eshipffmk0.gif

If you've got a 2010 Top on your Jeep and it fits... then you've got a JK (Models made from 2007-2011 are JK's...).

Yes... you can remove the two front Freedom Panels, and use your remaining Top as a Sun/Moon Roof. Just make sure your Top is bolted down in back.

It'll take at least 2 people to remove it, to avoid any damage to you and your top.

If I recall correctly, the Door Bolts require a T-50 Torx.

Best of Luck!

Cheers!
