Hardtop Wiring Harness to Aux Lights

I have a 2005 TJ Sport to which I sold the hardtop for. Anyone have any wiring advise for running a set of aux lights on the rear bumper through the old wiring harness?

Are you referring to the wiring harness for the rear wiper?

Yeah, the one that the rear wiper and defroster hooks into.

Not sure what kinda amps the wiper draws, but I'd think less than a set of lights would.
Probably best to use the power wire for the wiper to activate a solenoid and run a power wire for the lights to the battery.

Well, the rear wiper is hooked up to a 20 amp fuse. I was gonna start checking the wire gauges today to see what the max amperage i could send through them would be. Would it just be easier run new electrical back to the lights rather than messing around with the harness?

Remember the wiper is on an intermittent circuit. So you want flashing lights?

You'd be better off running a proper relay circuit. Most lights will come with the relay and switch.

I didn't even think of that, thank you sir. Any suggestions on a set that would attach to the spare tire (around the lugs)?

Hmmm, my rear wiper doesn't have a delay ('04 Unlimited). Wish it would.

This is how I hooked up some aux light in the rear....

Wired to a relay and powered from the battery....
