Front speakers on the floor? Sound bar?
I think it's time to upgrade the sound system.

I have a factory sound bar already.

I plan on upgrading the front and rear (sound bar) speakers soon.

6.5's will go in the sound bar. Any ideas on something with the ability to be amp'ed?

Also the front speakers stink. What are my options with them?

Is it possible to put a small sub box, or kick panel speaker enclosure on the front floor?

Im new to car audio, sorry for the most basic of questions.

I like Rock and the Pioneer stuff in the Jeep right now just doesn't cut it.

I'm a fan of pioneer I have two spreakers on the front two rear floorboard speakers and a sound bar all by them and I love it! The amp goes under the back seat and I have a bazooka bass in my back compartment and they all work great with mybpioneer radio

5.25's fit the front with adapter plates from ebay.... along with 6.5's in the sound bar it's far better than stock. We put Polk's in with a Pioneer deck....

I haven't really considered a Bazooka tube, but that seems like a nice option.

I should also mention I'm using a JVC head unit, with unamped Pioneer speakers.

Can they be amped?

Thats according to what the RMS wattage rating is on the speakers VS the Head unit. It's a good idea to have a little more speaker than you have power. I love my Polk Audio DB series and the run off the JVC head unit fine.

Like the Bazooka tube ... wish I would have gone bigger than the 6 1/2 - 100 w though - the bass still gets lost with the top down on the highway

It's been a few years since I've done car audio, but I'm going to try and fit some 6x9 speakers in the front and rear. I'll make sure to let you know what I come up with over the weekend

Well, after thinking on things over night i've decided to look into a Bazooka tube, with an AMP, and also maybe see if I can make/find some kick panel speaker enclosures. If i can't mount small enclosures on the floor area near the door frame maybe i can angle them upwards? Maybe I can install some tweeters on the dash to help with sound as well?

I have the top off most of the time so securing a speaker box is of some concern to me.

Keep the ideas and pictures coming Jeepers. Thank you all so much for the ideas and help.

I have a Kenwood SW-1 Kenwood - KSC-SW1 It will fit under the rear seat. There are other similar amplified you can look into that will fit under the seat or if you want larger there are plans to build an enclosue in the rear seat bottom..

I dont have a rear seat :) and my sound system kills right now. Im gona be amping my either front or sounbar speakers (probably sound bar) tonight maybe, and then building carbonfiber surrounds for speakers in the back mabe am 8 in sub w/ two more 6.5s :D idea is formulating...

Does anyone have pictures of the Sky Pods installed?

Or pictures of the VDP front mount overhead sound pods?

SXR311 09-08-2010 10:39 PM

Im thinking about trying out the VDP sound pods, and installing some Kicker shallow mount 6.5 inch subs. That would be behind the front seats, and the VDP forward mount overhead pods would be above my head with 6.5 Kickers as well.

That should give me better sound, and enough bass to bump just a bit.

Or would it be better to go with floor mounted pods with the speakers or subs?
