10.5in tires on 15x8 wheels.

Can I mount my 31x10.50x15 BFG KM2s on 15x8 steel wheels?

yes

What about a set of 32x11.50x15's? I'm trying to go bigger, but can't afford the lift I want just yet...

15x8 or 8" wide rim is good upto 12.50" wide tire, wider than that and you want to starting thinking about a 10" rim.

Just had 33x12.50 put on 15x8 2005 LJ Jeep yesterday and with a 1.5" body lift runs fine but will install 2" susp. lift later.

Keep in mind the backspace on the wheels you are using... And the lift will likely be less expensive than the tires.. Keep that in mind if you want to go bigger ultimately, a half worn set of tires sitting in the garage is a pretty expensive decoration.... ;)

Would 4.0 backspacing be enough for a 15x8 wheel, with 31x10x15 tire?

InfernoGirl 10-05-2010 07:42 AM

Yes. That is a stock Rubicon size tire, it'll fit your stock wheels fine, and your stock Jeep... :)

what about mounting 33x12.50x15 tires on 15x8 rims? would it be better to mount them on 15x10s so more tire is in contact with the ground?

InfernoGirl 10-05-2010 12:17 PM

You have to have spacers or aftermarket wheels to put a 12.5" tire on a TJ. 15x8 is the preferred size wheel for a 12.5" tire so that you can air down off road. But lots of folks use 15x10's as well, with few issues.
