Mount for an iPhone in an Otterbox

Anyone have any suggestions on the best way to mount an iPhone in an Otterbox case? I tried the vent mount from Bracketron and it seem to fit quite right, the vent seemed like it couldn't hold the mount and phone. Any ideas appreciated...

There's a nice rectangular tray in the middle of the TJ dash; rubberized and all. Phone fits in there quite nicely. Why mount it?

That's where it sits now, I just have visions of it taking flight out the window during a turn. That I would like to use it as a GPS as well.

In my jk, i use an s-type holder mounted with double sided tape mounted to the side of my headunit... The otter box is exactly 3" wide.. Goto autozone n look for a phone mount with 3.5" capacity...

Don't do vent mounts picked one up an the. Heat gets so intense that it burns your phone up real bad I couldn't hold mine and it was just a cold fall day with the heat on a smaller dot. I just use my cup holders the top was a bad idea it flew and hit my door. The best thing I have on my old phone was a rubberized cellphone skin that worked the beast for the iPhone so far.

I put two pieces of velcro on the back of the phone and the other just to the left of the radio. Its not in an otter box and holds it pretty well. Its somewhat at eye level so I can change my music and watch the road. I only use the phone as an ipod though. I'm not too concerned if something happens to it or the velcro on it. Have been thinking for a while about fabbing a mount. I'll post a pic of it later.

The wiring is a little messy so I'm thinking of putting all in the ash tray to hide it and just have the connections out.
