Planning a June ride at Windrock

Hey gang. Mid-American Jeepers Association, a family-friendly jeep group, is planning a ride at Coal Creek (Windrock) June 8-9-10. If you guys are interested in attending, shoot me a PM. I'll give you more details as we get closer as well.

jeeperman 03-02-2007 03:24 PM

Where is Windrock?

I hear ya.
We need to nail down a campground soon. :o Where we stayed the last few years is great, but it'd be nice to be a tad closer for the night run.

I will be there in April for the Jeep Jamboree. Windrock is okay, the biggest issue I have is good trails like 39 are there one day and gone the next with all the road building they are doing.

blueJeeps 03-03-2007 11:23 AM

T16 is still there.
It fun unless it rains. Then its a nightmare.

ddavie 03-03-2007 11:35 AM

T16, T22, T21, T39 are all good trails. I think 16 is my favorite, for now anyway ;)

blueJeeps 03-03-2007 11:53 AM

We need to do Atomic Ridge this trip.

ddavie 03-03-2007 11:58 AM

I don't remember why we didn't the last time. Were we out of time?

If you need info let me or ddavie know.

Windrock is a great ride spot. I try to make a few trips a year.

blueJeeps 04-28-2007 11:47 AM

Just to bump it back up.
The ride is still on and the invite is still open.

We had a guy drive 23+ hours (one way) two years ago to wheel Tellico with us.

I am the newbie. I live in Maryville and just bought a 94 YJ. Stock except 3" body lift and 32''x11.50'' Pro Comp AT. 4 cyl Auto. Great shape and a good paltform to start building(spending). I would love to go, are there any novice trails?

94riggs 05-01-2007 10:03 AM

I hope you guys have a wench to pull me out. I have been lying in bed at night dreaming about 35's and lockers for 2 weeks now. I have always wanted a jeep but the ones I found were either beat all to hell or too expensive. BUt I finally found a good candidate. I would like to meet up with you guys and go wheelin.

94riggs 05-01-2007 10:04 AM

Did I say I love my Jeep?

16 and even 39 (down hill) can be run with what you have. 22/21 most of them are nice as well.. Was just there about a week ago.

One thing about our rides, we base the trails on the least built Jeep. We had a stock TJ go with us last year (her 1st time ever off road) and by the end she was hunting harder lines to try.

Is T39 reopened now then?

Never new it was closed.. ran about 80 jeeps down it a week and a half ago or so...seemed just fine to me...

blueJeeps 05-02-2007 05:55 PM

Cool deal, it was closed off for a short time I thought.

Yeap, had great weather this year..no rain.

blueJeeps 05-07-2007 06:02 PM

One of the local guys here is a trail leader guide which ever it's called these days.
Gary Parsons red cj7. Ring a bell?

erickpl 05-10-2007 10:17 AM

We ran Windrock last year. Those puddles cost me a TPS. :D

Our group is going to Greyrock that same weekend, otherwise, I'd be tempted. 4.5 hour drive to Windrock or 1.5 hour drive to Greyrock? :)

Windrock can get VERY dusty on those main trails, esp if you are in the back of a 20 Jeep convoy!
