2001 TJ sport for $8000 good deal or not?

ok im lookin at the wrangler cause my other jeep kinda quit on me. this one has a 5'' suspension lift with 35's, both hard and soft top, aftermarket front and rear bumpers, 9000lb winch, 4 KC's, high lift jack, extra battery tray, its a I6 5 speed with 140xxx miles on it, oh and extra mirrors for when the door are off, what yall think? good deal?

InfernoGirl 09-29-2010 07:18 AM

If it's not all rusted out or beat to death, and it has a D44 rear diff, then yeah, it's probably not a bad deal, IMO. Offer $7k and see if he bites....

King of Beers 09-29-2010 07:24 AM

Probably want to check and make sure it has a SYE with that 5" lift and the D44. Sounds like he has some good extras to come with it...

wrangler4 09-29-2010 07:25 AM

yeah lots of great extras, oh and i drove it and opened it up pretty good and it had no vibes at all

Check your rear. 35" tires on a D35 is not a good thing. Look for a metal fill plug on the diff cover. If it's metal, it's the D44....if it's rubber, it's the D35.

jskinn27 09-29-2010 10:16 AM

sounds like a good deal IF like everyone has previously covered, if it had D44 or better and SYE

jayc 09-29-2010 10:21 AM

sounds like a good deal, lots of extras but lots of miles. why so many, did he say? My 97 has 135K and i've taken that thing all over the US.

sparky 09-29-2010 10:24 AM

What's wrong with your other jeep.

wrangler4 09-29-2010 03:06 PM

alright thanks guys, im tired of puttin miney into it, it has a cracked head

Owen_TJ 09-29-2010 04:19 PM

like the others said...make sure on the diff as well as the slip yoke. Not a bad deal. And as Inferno said, offer 7 n see if ya get anywhere.

wrangler4 09-29-2010 04:28 PM

alright thanks guys i appreciate it

wrangler4 10-01-2010 06:55 PM

any other opinions?

If the Jeep is very clean and the motor and drivetrain was regularly maintained, I say buy it. I paid $8,900 for a stock 2000 Sahara with 69,000 miles. IMO, you can never have too many Jeeps if the price is right.:)
