Freedom Top Storage
I got my new jeep, dual top package which gives me a soft top and freedom top. (Nice for the different seasons) Well the soft comes attached under the hard top when it ships from the factory. To get the soft top off, you have to take the hard top off first.
Since I have to take the hard top off, I might as well leave it off and maybe catch some nice days in the soft top before the season changes. When I do that, I have to store the hard top in the garage.
I know there are posts about storage and what nots, but I intend to do this and wanted to know if this will work.
Take the freedom panels off. Pull the hard top off and set it on foam runners.
This is the part where I have the question.
Will the hard top set okay in regards to balance if I put the rear window facing up? I know older hard tops wont cause the lip over the cab area, but the new freedom top looks like it might since the cab panels come off first.
Will this work? otherwise I have to come up with a way to set it on the ground (on foam runners).
Most of the threads here are about the older hard tops so the concept doesnt really answer my question.
Mopar makes a nice hard top cart. Also there is a locking rear window metal bar that keeps the rear window from opening when your moving it.
I just leave my sitting in its natural position, i.e how its sits on the jeep, on the garage floor under a car cover, corners sitting on foam. Yeah the glass sticks up, but I'm the only one in my garage so I don't have to worry. If you have a lot of movement in your garage find something to hold the glass in place so someone doesn't break it.
