Where are the public trails?

Im new here and Ive never done any kind of off roading.

Where are there public trails?
Do I need a special permit or window sticker?
I have a stock TJ w/ 31" tires Im not looking to do any crazy rock climbs but my be just some easy to intermediate trails. What would I need to have along with me?

Out west there is an ORV Park--Appleton, otherwise there is the ORV park up in Gilbert.

There's gilbet, appleton as metioned and also spider near brainerd and the gandy dancer over by (wi)sconyland. I belive you do need an off road permit, not sure. You can get info on these places on the dnr web site.

Yeah if you drive the public trails there is a offroad sticker available Nothing here to radical for trailriding unless you goto an offroad park. I went this fall up to Duluth and took old logging trails from grand Marias to ELy That place is a huge maze up there!!

So Im going to take a shot in the dark here but, Im sure there has to be some parks or forests that jeeps can go trail ride back into places others dont go and camp for the night. Im thinking that people keep such places to there selves, and not share..... :)
