clicking noise when accelarating

:mad:Hi Guys, Im new to this site. I just purchased a 2010 jeep wrangler unlimited. After driving it for 1 1/2 I strarted hearing a clicking noise when accelerating. I can hear it more. I took it to the dealer and could not find where that noise was coming from. The jeep stayed at the dealer for 3 wks in which an engineer from Chrysler came to look at it. He found nothing abnormal. I can still hear the noise and everyone does too. Another engineer came from Chrysler and said that the noise was a normal noise. He said that it came from the vald train( not sure if Im spelling it correctly). He said that it was making that noise when the vald train is loading and unloading the engine. I have had anothe Jeep wrangler unlimited and drove others and they did not make that noise. Can anyone tell me if they have heard that noise and if Im being told the truth from Chrysler. PLEASE HELP IN GOING CRAZY WITH THAT NOISE.

I think they meant valve train. I had the same type of sound in my '08. It turns out it was pinging (misfire) when under load. They checked out all the specs and nothing was out of line. I was told to try changing gas stations (better gas) or try premium or plus gas. The higher octane gas did the trick, but its a PITA having to spend more for gas!

It's nothing to worry about, it's just bad gas. Get used to it. Or better yet, turn on the radio, tske the doors off along with the top and enjoy the day.

how long does it take for the noise to clear after changing gas. I used to put chevron and change to exon unleaded plus but I have not seen a difference on the noise. And also why do some jeeps make that noise and not others.
