Next Run?????
hey guys/gals wondering when the next run will be?

My 02 is ready for easy/moderate wheeling. much like the pics you guys posted earlier

tiny terror 03-11-2007 08:36 PM

Soon as I can pester Brian into leading us again... or Larry mentioned there was a place down where he lives. We should try for one in a couple weeks. I'm up for another run anytime.

Rawkon 03-11-2007 09:17 PM

sweet!! im in the OC/big bear area. if anyone wants to run a big bear trail. Id be more then happy to lead it. Ive been wheeling there for years.

tiny terror 03-11-2007 09:19 PM

Then let's look at dates and have a show of hands.

lilredwrangler 03-11-2007 09:21 PM

Can we go over JUMPS? LOL
I guess you had to see the video..

tiny terror 03-11-2007 09:25 PM

Like I said, you first Larry..... and I have not one doubt that you would totally try it.

lilredwrangler 03-11-2007 10:14 PM

First I have to fix my Jeep, only one thing broke...
I hit the tail pipe enough that I broke a weld on the pipe between the CAT, and the muffler. (made for noisey ride home)
I just parked it for today, I'll clean it up, and be ready for the next run tomorrow.

Don, and I hit a couple of hills on the way home in Bonsal, we just had to have a little more fun before calling it a day.

Let me know when, and where.:D

Rawkon 03-11-2007 10:28 PM

Myself and others will be headed out to asuza canyon the 24th you all more then welcome to join in on the mud fest

myself wil lbe staying out of most of the mud. but theres a few creek crossings and mud holes you have to go through. Its a ton of fun just watching people get stuck. the group im goin with is california chapter. its just a group of wheelers not a club.

heres some pics of our last run at asuza
my peep

Its an area that can be made as hard as you want. Its an OHV park and costs like 8 bucks to get in.

lilredwrangler 03-12-2007 10:57 AM

Is swimming allowed?
It really looks fun, but I would have to just hook on a tow strap, and go where people wanted to drag me..

lilredwrangler 03-12-2007 11:29 AM

On second thought..

Rawkon 03-12-2007 06:28 PM

lol all are welcome to join in the fun and we all have straps and recovery gear. if you are interesested in tagging along ill put up more info on the run.

I don't know Rawk, that looks like I'd be scraping mud out my tail pipe for weeks.

lilredwrangler 03-12-2007 07:25 PM

Tiny, Don says he has been there before, and you only have to go in the mud if you want, there are other trails, and hills to play on..

Let's see more info..
I don't think it's too far from here..

RedRubiTJ 03-12-2007 07:42 PM

I'd definitely be up for Big Bear - if I can get the #$@% TJ back by then :D. Can we please wait to shoot dates for a few days? I really don't know the status of my TJ yet and would like to make it this time.

tiny terror 03-12-2007 07:44 PM

I'm sure no one would mind holding up for an a fellow WF'er.

jeffwen02 03-12-2007 09:33 PM

i live right next to azusa, as does red rubi tj. i should be up for that one.

RedRubiTJ 03-12-2007 09:52 PM

Mud is evil :flipoff: . I avoid at all costs.

Actually, I've been there and Azusa is not really for me. I'm ok with watching (and LMAO at the STUCKS) but I'm not wild about wheeling there.

Did I mention that mud is evil :flipoff: ?

tiny terror 03-12-2007 10:08 PM

I thought I liked mud until I crawled under my beastie to check it out after Saturday and found mud packed into places I thought I'd cleaned...... ok I still like it, but I hate to clean it.

Rawkon 03-13-2007 12:43 AM

im with you redrubi i go there becasue my other members on the ORW want to go. I go to watch the idiot try to take there stock yotas in the pits. You guys are more then welcome to join us. We will prolly meet at the parking lot when it opens. we will prolly be there saturday

Rawkon 03-13-2007 01:57 AM

oh i forgot too ask redrubi whats up with the jeep??? let me know if you need help. Ive been through my jeep big time and have a 2002 chryler manual for the TJs

RedRubiTJ 03-13-2007 09:54 AM

Rawkon thanks, I got the suspension on, and I have put an AEV Highline kit on (link). The paint didn't match so they are having to respray it. Hopefully by Friday that will be done, then I have to put my wiring and OBA back together. Then I need to mount my reservoirs for my shocks and install my rockers and sliders. AEV has still not sent out the flares so I need to wait for those then perhaps cut out the rear wheel well for a little more clearance. The pinion in the rear may still not be good enough so I may have to purchase longer adjustable uppers or drop my t-case to get it a bit closer. Then I am going to need to test it out a little and correct any problems I encounter.

Rawkon 03-13-2007 11:39 AM

sweet deal, I hear ya on the testing part. im finally getting mine dialed in. with the efans and gauges.

RedRubiTJ 03-17-2007 11:07 AM

OK, got the heep back. Now my flares are delayed. I can run without the fronts, but I can't cut for the rears until I have them. 37's on a 4" plus BL = way too much rubbing off road - they don't touch at all on the street. This weekend and next week, I get to re-install and finish up all my electrical. Then I have to cut my rockers for fit. If you guys don't want to wait I will understand. I'll keep you posted.

tiny terror 03-17-2007 12:16 PM

I'm hoping to have time to shoehorn the lift under there during my boys' spring break (not this coming week, but the following)... and the discos. Maybe we should shoot for something in April?

tiny terror 03-18-2007 11:50 AM

You people realize that I will torment the lot of you until we have a date for a run. I'm a huge pest. I'd like to have an even bigger group this time. :D

Unlimited 03-18-2007 01:13 PM

Where do you want to go? Mountains or Desert? Easy (fire roads), Difficult, or something in-between? I can do Saturday, April 21st or Sunday, April 15th (maybe). You want me to come up with something?

RedRubiTJ 03-18-2007 02:20 PM

The 21st would be good for me, the heep should be ready by then. The 15th won't work for me as my daugther's b-day is on the 16th.

My preference would be a few of the BB trails. Perhaps Gold Mountain or Jacoby Canyon as a warm up and then Holcomb Creek or something similar (maybe John Bull ;)). we've had stock TJ SE's on all of those except JB.

You're the one who knows the trails, I'm just a tag along right now, trying to get my sea legs so to speak. I'd love the mountains. I should have the lift on by then and the discos so whatever you think the group's jeeps can handle.

So let's say April 21st and have a show of hands. I'd like mountains, but desert is fine also and I don't mind a long day at all.

Who's up for it??

Ok let's plan on Big Bear on the 21st. I'm thinking maybe going up to Butler Peak to the look-out:

And then maybe doing the Holcomb Creek / Lower Larga flats loop.

Then maybe home by way of Cleghorn road trail to the I15.

Let me know what you think.....

tiny terror 03-18-2007 05:00 PM

I'm game. :D
