Soft Top Problem

how much effort should it require to put the top back on? i bought my 2007 jku used and the top isnt in the best shape, the problem i have is the rear corners, im not a small guy but no matter how hard i pull down on them i cant get them to go under the rear retainer lip thing, is this normal? its about 70 degrees and everything else is zipped and fastened down

Pull on the rear bow above the corner to give yourself some slack, and don't have the header latched when you attach them, hooked, but not latched. That should help.

also, unzip the back and side windows, that will also help, i just had that problem yesturday....

You don't pull them down and slide them up in it, they go in slanted, you just have to get the plastic angled down and aligned with the groove, then push in on the soft top and it will go under. I really don't understand all the trouble with the soft top, its probably about as simple as it could get.

I think it's because most owners are worried about damaging their tops when putting them back on. You do have to use some strength but it should fit back together just right as it was made too. I'm the same way. I like to be careful and make sure I'm doing it correctly so I don't damage it.
