Carpet - Here We Go Again

OK, so I'd like to replace the seven year old, stinky, mildewey carpet in the TJ. Now before you start hammering me with HERCULINER RULES, HERCULINER RULES, HERCULINER RULES, I will let you know that I'm considering it at a later time but I don't have the interest in doing it right now. Maybe next summer.

With that being the case, can anyone share their experience with an aftermarket manufacturer that fits the tub just like the original? I don't want to wind up with some ill-fitting product that doesn't match the original molding and shape of the OEM carpet and just looks like I threw a blanket in it. Thanks!

I have recently purchased & installed this carpet from Morris... made by "SEATZ"
Seatz Deluxe Jeep Carpet Wrangler YJ

Easy to install, GREAT fit on my YJ. Extra heavy padding!

Right on, thanks Billy! BTW, I like the wheels. Interested to see what the finished YJ looks like.

You know you can wash the carpet, right? Squirt it with some simple green and hit it with a power washer.... Let it dry in the sun, almost like new... Mine is almost 10 years old and it doesn't stink of sulfur mud anymore... :)

Hey Inferno, do you keep your carpet in since doing the lining?

InfernoGirl, does washing it get rid of years worth of Dalmation hair? ;) Thanks for the advice!

It will if you do a good enough job... :) If you're fighting dog hair then I highly recommend Raptor lining it..... Then all that pesky dog hair will just blow out.... :D

Edit: Billy YJ, I haven't put it back yet, but it's sitting here waiting for me to get around to it, I expect I will before winter hits, just to get it out of the garage, if nothing else.. :)

If you feel that it cannot be cleaned and are set on replacing it, then here you go

I've been considering having my tan ( original 98 )
Black. Anyone have this done?

I'm seriously considering replacing mine with BedTred, and my jeep is brand new. I've been having a leak trickling down the A-pillar since I bought it and after several unsuccessful attempts to stop it I'm thinking it would be easier to just do the BedTred and quit fighting the leak. But I think I've finally resolved the leak issue so I think I'll stick with the OEM carpet a while longer. Still might do the BedTred later on though.

When replacing the carpet what do you use to keep it down?
Back passengers always kick up the carpet and it gets all crunched up.

Bed rug.
I've had it for years...
Easy to wash and very durable

Pulled my carpet out the day we brought the Jeep home almost 2 years ago. Nothing but mats in mine, no issues.

Any chance you can post a picture of the front floors? Curious how it looks/fits. Thanks!

Blue Baby Sound - that's one way to keep the carpet nice and clean to put back in at trade in time.

:thumb: Exactly what happened when we sold the '13. Carpet was brand new and made the Jeep feel brand new.

BUT we do it mainly because we have 6 active kids in/out with muddy shoes/cleats, water jugs, etc. Also camping & wheeling you just hose it out. It's a little noisier but not bad.
