New Rubi?

I'm thinking about buying a 2010 or 11 rubi wrangler but I'm not sure about how the front axles work now. I owned a 86 cj7 and it had front locking hubs. I notice models after the cj-7 no longer had them. Is there an electronic system that locks the hubs when your in 4wd? I was looking at a 10 rubi at a car dealer and couldn't see any device that looked like an electric locker on the front axles. If there isn't maybe that explains why the mpg is so bad,

Manual locking hubs are a thing of the past on factory vehicles nowadays, its still offered aftermarket, but i believe nissan developed the auto locker in the late 80s early 90s and everyone has followed suit since then.

They do have selectable e-lockers, front and rear. The lockers are located in the differentials, I believe. Not sure what you mean about the mileage being bad. Rubi's are no worse than any other Wrangler...

I know about the e-lockers. I was talking about front axle hubs. You used to unlock the front hubs to keep the front axles from turning while in 2wd. If you didn't then your mpg would drop as your would be turning axles, differential and front drive shaft while in 2wd. I guess they are now disconnected through an electric solenoid or something

He is talking about the front hubs not the gear lockers IG :)

There is little to no gain in having manual locking hubs. I have to say it was a major pain in the butt having to get out and lock the hubs on my CJ7. Wait, what I meant was it was a pain in my passenger's butt since that was the price of wheeling with me.
