Steering box leaking.

2 weeks ago while washing the salt off my jeep I noticed power steering fluid leaking. After checking my lines and pump I found it was leaking from the top of the power steering box where the colum goes in. Is there a seal or anything you can buy to fix this or should I just get a used one from the junkyard and toss the old one.

that is a common leak with the TJ PS gear box ... you can get a rebuild kit for it and rebuild the seals in the box ... but best bet would be to take the opportunity to swap in a 1999 Dodge Dakota / Durango 4x4 steering box ... you can even turn the jeep box in for the core if you feel like making a multimillion dollar corporation lose $15 .... but i dont reccomend it, and i would never do something like that ;)

but FWIW, that seal is the first to go ... next will be the seal on the end of the sector shaft :(

Thanks, how much does a durango or dakota box cost.
