That there is dumb

jdhallissey 10-31-2010 04:21 AM

Why is it dumb? That one takes balls :D. Old set of tires it is fun to burn em. Then if it was for a good cause (jeep show Ie) then sure why not.

CMEvans79 10-31-2010 04:24 AM

Jeeps weren't made to do burn outs! Thats why its dumb, lol I'd rather break something out on a trail then mess something up doing a burnout ... IMHO

I couldn't decide what was more stupid doing it or whooping it up watching it. I feel dumber for having clicked on the video.

I've watched this video a couple of times, but can't really figure out the process.

I mean, what keeps the vehicle from not moving forward, even slightly?

Even though I think this is an amazingly stupid, jackass stunt.. I am still kind of curious how it's done.

some cars have enough torque to just sit there and smoke the tires, some dont.
if you have an automatic-1. hold down the brake about half way to 3/4 2. floor it.
stick shift-1. rev it 2. drop the clutch 3. repeat step 2. above.
(not good for brakes, good for showing off) you shouldnt do it in a jeep though.

Ibuildembig 11-02-2010 10:27 PM

Its called a line lock :)

Red Wrangler 11-02-2010 10:30 PM

line lock? whats that?

jcf 11-02-2010 10:35 PM

Burnouts are at the top of stupidassness in my opinion & doing it in a Jeep... well...some people have no brains
or in a Corvette for that matter, I guess some people call it entertainment

locks up the front wheels.
you find then on drag racing cars, so the drivers can sit there and warm up the tires before a race. least thats what i was told by this dude who was building a 56 chevy.

Ibuildembig 11-03-2010 08:49 AM

I used to do um in mine :P

StinkyMud 11-03-2010 09:12 AM
