What is a good brand of clutch? And where is a good place to buy one?
Heard a lot of people say auto zone and stores like that are not good places to get parts.
Go with the Luk or Sachs clutch, Luk was Jeep's OE clutch manufacturer for many years. 200k miles on a Luk clutch is typical.
The very last clutch brand I would buy for a TJ is the wildly overpriced Centerforce. They are a centrifugal design meant to lock up harder at extreme RPMs and HP and just aren't the right/best choice for a TJ.
I've installed a handful of Centerforce clutches into various vehicles over the years, and all I could detect was a stiff pedal. For myself, and my customers' vehicles, I try to use only Luk or Sachs, or Valeo.
The Sachs clutch I bought had the all metal throwout bearing, and had a Valeo image on the disc fwiw...
