I have a 1997 TJ with 2.5 and a 5 speed. It has a check engine light on. The reader said it was the purge sensor, purge canister, or vacuum leak. Replaced the sensor and was unable to find a vacuum leak. Reset the code, but the light is back on. Was curious if anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks!

If you've replaced the sensor (why you did this before examining the canister and plumbing for a leak is a mystery to me,) might I suggest you find the cause of the problem, which is most likely a leak in the vacuum lines. Grab a vacuum pump, start pulling hoses and find the one that is leaking. It is most likely a split rubber hose or broken T-connector, or a malfunctioning solonoid controlling the system that is at fault. At best, something was accidentally knocked off the last time you worked on it.
