Poll: How many MPG's do you get?

I checked my MPG's for the last few fill ups and found that I'm getting 13.65 miles per gallon with my 1995 6 cyl. I changed my spark plugs today in hopes of bringing it up a bit. Kinda suprised though, cause I drive only about 5 miles a day and thats just put-putting around...nothing too aggressive. So what do you get?

Thats actually pretty hard on vehicles. Thing spends all its time below operating temperature.

Anyway,

Best I've gotten is 19 mpg (highway/interstate - few stops)
Worst is 11 (doing that 6 miles/day thing).

2006 LJ, 4.0, 30"

WahooWolfe 11-09-2010 09:30 PM

Around 10mpg on the highway. Oh well...............

OregonTJ 11-09-2010 09:30 PM

Only had my TJ a month and am getting about 13 mpg. About 20 miles city driving a day.

TJ Terry 11-09-2010 09:34 PM

Got an 01 TJ 4.0 auto 3.07 ratio 31x10.50x15 . The worst in -20 temp useing 4X4 every day was 14 MPG , summer time its 16 - 17 MPG. Got 18 on a trip once but it must have been with the wind, never seen it since.

MikeMTJ 11-09-2010 09:51 PM

I've got a 1995 2.5l with 31s and I get 13.5 city and about 15-17 highway depending on a lot of things.

JackdUp 11-09-2010 10:02 PM

Just the thread I been needing.

So far, I have filled up just once in the 2007 Sahara. I know utilizing the gas warning light is not a good gauge for miles per gallon, so I am going to verify the miles travelled on Trip A vs what I travelled last tank by the time the gas warning light went on, just for consistency. Last time, I travelled a mere 199.6 miles. Lets see how far I get this go around.

Once the idiot light chimes and illuminates, I will see how close to 199.6 I am. Then, I will fill up and note the gallons pumped. Once I get that number, I will divide my new miles on Trip A by the gallons filled. Presto. That will be my approximate, and most likely, disappointing miles per gallon.

jp2611 11-10-2010 06:13 AM

Nothern IN is fairly flat. Daily driving is a 24 mile round trip. Weekends is 120 miles highway. (2 trips) 19-22 mpg average. usually not going above 65 mph on highway or below 40 mph in town. 04 Jeep Wrangler I6, 5speed, 31 BFG's AT. "DIRTY" cold air kit. high-flow exhaust, and chip. I don't wheel it.

Beaver5 11-10-2010 08:09 AM

I get between 16 and 17 with my everyday drive a 50/50 mix of hwy and city driving. Its bone stock exept a 2 1/4" lift and 33" AT tires, K&N air filter and a FLOW MASTER. The gearing is stock and I dont use 5th much exept on the 4 lane. I cruise on the highway but drive like a crazed fool in town (heavy traffic makes me mean as a dog shittin tacks) gotta get through it. In the late spring and early fall i get about 18.3 mpg. Dont know why. 95 YJ

Kykid 11-10-2010 08:19 AM

This poll should be about how many mpgs we don't get. I get about 13 to 14 on 33s in my 97 sahara with 4 inch lift. That's on a good day.

Norituck 11-10-2010 08:28 AM

Stock 95 yj 6cyl 16-17 mpg

Lifting it 4in with 33in tires in 3 weeks. I expect mpg to drop a lot.

Rhenry518 11-10-2010 09:26 AM

i get like 10-11 on a good day
straight 6 auto tran and 230,000 orginial miles on the motor
33's

rich734 11-10-2010 09:35 AM

I have a 2005 TJ Rubicon with only 23000 miles on it (got it last month). I seem to be averaging about 15.5 mpg; that is with driving about 45 miles/day to work and a couple of weekends out in the soft sand down here in FL. Looking at a long trip to Arkansas over Thanksgiving; we'll see what kind of mileage I get then!

Fat Black YJ 11-10-2010 09:48 AM

1995 YJ 2.5 with 31's, I get about the same 13-15 with the 5-speed.

Sekstrand3 11-10-2010 09:57 AM

03 6cl I get 8-10 mpg

Oops forgot to say in runnig 33's :)

corima 11-10-2010 10:03 AM

18.5mpg average on my 2010 with 9k on it.

VolForce 11-10-2010 10:08 AM

95 YJ with a 4" susp. lift, 33x12.5 tires, I get about 10 mpg in the city, actually about 16 on the highway, so avg around 13 I guess.

Norituck 11-10-2010 10:15 AM

6 cyl? What gears are you running?

NAVYCHIEF 11-10-2010 10:56 AM

2007 dodge nitro.....22mpg

mcgyver1467 11-10-2010 11:18 AM

87 YJ 4.2L with 33's I get around 14mpg, but the mc carb runs a little rich. I was getting around 12mpg until I did the Ford TFI ignition.
