Looks good and that placement is quite a bit better than down on the bumper. Much better light spread.

NalinMFG 03-26-2007 06:36 PM

i like it

tiny terror 03-26-2007 06:41 PM

I like 'em and I can barely get past how cool the color of your jeep is.

FuzzyDolly 03-26-2007 06:44 PM

Nice! :)

amerijeep 03-26-2007 06:44 PM

Looks great. I'm with terror. That's my favorite jeep color.

BSing 03-26-2007 06:53 PM

Looks good...only down part would be if your someone like me who enjoys cruising the desert with the windshield down. But still looks good

blownfanswitch 03-26-2007 07:21 PM

I think it looks great. p.s. where did you get those grille inserts?

4WD.com is where i got the inserts (get the better ones..plastic ones dont last)...Also got the black headlight bezels there as well.

i had some high beams on that place. but i had some strong refelections on the hood, they were that bright that inever used the lights. so i removed them from there. now i have them on a lightbar over the windshield. there are still some little reflections, but it´s much better.
i don´t have pics of the reflections when the lights where at the place your lights are. but here you can see how it looks with the lights on the top of the windshield.

thanks! nice pics..
Anyone have problems with their antenna once they put those lights on. My antenna is right in the way...I ended up taking it off for tonight...

AzTJ 03-26-2007 08:05 PM

I think its the only place to put your off-road lights... better chance of surviving a trail and getting taken off by some idiot in the parking lots :D

[edit] - I just bent my antenna back a bit using a small wrench. It might smack them on a trail, but not durring a highway trip.

nicolas-eric 03-26-2007 08:09 PM

the antenna is ok. put some tape around it at the place where it contacts the light. otherwise the radio will mak esome bad noises when the antenna has contact to some other metal at the car.
a friend put the cables through the plastik seal under the windshield. but every time it rains there comes some water in his jeep though that very little gap. thats why i installed my cables on the way i posted before.

I have a set of lights mounted in the same place. I really like the light from that location, but there is a down side. They block your field of vision a bit if you are driving on tight roads. My wife really complains about not being able to see as well since I installed them. I working on a bracket that will move the lights out about two or three inches so that they block less of the windshield.

As for the antenna, angle the mount back so that it doesn't hit the light and slide a six inch piece of vacuum tubing down over it so that it covers where it would hit the light.

There is a whole thread about how different people wired their lights here:

Edit: Hokie822, You started that thread ^

Bent the antenna on mine just below the light to match the angle of my windshield, worked out great.

dwdrums801 03-27-2007 05:42 AM

those look awsome

mrbigjeep 03-27-2007 10:00 PM

Scoob 03-28-2007 08:59 PM

I think they look like crap on your jeep.

You should sell them cheap to another forum member right away. Since they are used I will take them off your hands.

J/K They look pretty sharp up there.

I have to agree with this statement 100%. I think if I could do it all over again I probably wouldn't have mounted a pair of lights there. Mine block my vision way too much and I never use the lights in the first place.

BUT if you like them and are aware of this going in then you might like them just fine. Yours look good, I'm just warning you of the problem with visibility.

OneBoltShort 03-29-2007 05:50 AM

I've got the KC daylightwers mounted the same way. I get compliments all the time about how nice they look there. Plus they light up the trail like you've got the sun behind you. Alot of people say that they create a bad glare off of the hood but I haven't had any problems with that. I just bent the antenna by hand to go parallel with the windshield angle, but it'll still hit the light in wind or high speed, so put some electrical tape on the antenna where it hits. And they do create blind spots going around curves, but for how much they help with night ridin' it's well worth it...When I've got those on I can't even tell my headlights are on.

I ended up with 2 sets of these and am selling the other set in the For Sale section. PM me if interested. Make me an offer.

I like the inserts too. When you say the "better ones" which ones are you referring to? Do they make the black in something other than plastic? I would like to find a black set that have the vertical ribs in each section, and then if it was metal that would make it even better. I have a screen on right now, but Iam not too sure that I really like it, but I do like the added radiator protection. Thanks, Scooby
