rubicon rear end question
 
my 35 in the rear blew so i found a rear end from a tj rubicon..will it just bolt in? and will it work with my 15" rims.. cuz i know it uses different brakes

It should bolt right being that they are both TJ's. There may be two problems though: A Rubicon has disc brakes and a Rubicon has 4.10 gears so you'd need to regear the front to match. The brake problem should be able to be solved by converting the front to disc. Hopefully someone else will chime in on exactly how to convert the brakes.

IT is a walk in the park. It should take ya like 2 hours to toss that axle in the jeep. It is a direct bolt on/in. The driveshaft will need a new joint, 1310 to 1330. Then you might run one more issue with the driveshaft being a little long since the dana 44 diff is about a inch longer.

alright so it seems like it isnt too too much work to make it work.. but do 15" rims clear for the disk brakes..it alread has disk infront. and since i have 307 gears now i would be driving 2wd only cuz i cant regear the front

Your 15" wheels will fit. That is what I am running on my Ruby. Make sure you get the ebrake cables with the new axle. (the ones going to each side) Also the locker in the ruby axle uses very low air pressure to activate. You may have to do some research on that. Or just buy a compressor that is made for a Rubicon axle.

You can make the ebrake cables work from your drum brakes to the disc brakes just fine. I did. To make the locker work it takes about 5psi to lock them. You can run a normal compressor with a valve on it for the locker. You can also get the ruby pumps (simple to wire up)
