Clutch noise when not engaged

2002 Wrangler X (Manual Trans)

My clutch makes a chirping sound when not engaged now. I read online that there are a couple parts in the clutch assy this could be. I figure with 175k miles, should just replace the whole assy and fly wheel. Do you agree?

I had old vehicles in the past and pulled the motor multiple times to fix it fairly easily, I'm sure there is no alternative here in order to get to the clutch assy. I know this is a stupid question, but is there any shortcut?

Thanks!

not engaged as in pressed down?

Yes, when the clutch is not pressed down and it is in neutral. This is when it starts to make a chirping type sound. This just started recently and it is definitely the clutch because it goes away as soon as I press the clutch pedal down.

so its when engaged? not seperated/disengaged?
I think if you have noise when pressed down or pressing down, then you have problem. if its making a bit of noise when released, its normal.

pedal pressed not engaged is throw out bearing, when pedal released engaged main shaft/input shaft bearing.
