Squeaky Steering Wheel

My steering wheel has started to squeak when turning it around. I'll take the dash panels off one of these days to see if I can find what's wrong, but I figured I would check here to see if this happens often to other TJ's

That is a common problem that is easily fixed. Spray the steering wheel shaft where it passes through the rubber grommet on the fire wall with white lithium grease.

Thanks! I figured it wasn't a big deal

It becomes more noisy as winter sets in. :D The noise usually goes away after the engine is warmed up and warms up the rubber grommet.

That's true, it does go away. But I sprayed some grease at it and fixed it.

Cool! Gotta love forums. Most any issue you have, others have and have solved!
