Its funny this thread just came up because I'm still fuming over some jack@$$ who just about blocked me in yesterday. I parked normally in a spot at work in the Subaru and this idiot parks crooked next to me in his beat up old pickup truck. The @$$ end was so far over and behind my rig I about couldn't get out without hitting him. I could not back straight up without scraping paint. I had to work and squeeze just to get into my car.
:9lame:

When I lived in England someone parked crooked in a parking spot way over the line but the parking spot next to them was vacant. I was in the Mini and I just pulled in and parked normally in that spot as parking there was hard to come by. I had equal spacing on both sides between the lines but only about 3 inches away from their car. When I came back out they owner of the car was about to get in from the passenger side and crawl over. I just got in the Mini and drove off. If they want to be idiots about parking their car I have no sympathy for them when it becomes an issue for them.

Let me start off by saying I am from new jersey, so there are no shortages of @asshats. When I was in community college, there was very limited parking in close proximity to the buildings. People would park on an angle and take up 2 spaces. On any given day, there were at least 3 different cars that parked like this. It drove me NUTS.

Keying a car makes you a bigger A-Hole then the guy who parks crooked.

That's not cool dude. Don't even joke about doing that. :bottom:

KeeblerKO 11-18-2010 10:03 PM

Never done it, but can you imagine? Here they are parking all special to avoid just such a thing and then they go to get into their car.... Oh noes!

People kept parking in my assigned place at my old apt. Jeep is perfect length to block them in and not the spots next to it. One of the regular offenders was in my spot on moving weekend and it felt soo good letting all the air out of their tires

firehawk_1989 11-18-2010 10:11 PM

Came out just in time to watch a girl bounce her door off my new Jeep's door..not a tap, it was hard, and left a good dent. She had the nerve to say "UM Exuse me, and push by me."

My advice, get to know some local tow truck drivers. You get sweet, legal revenge, the driver gets paid, everybody wins!!

mrcarcrazy 11-19-2010 09:41 AM

There's a guy out there that makes bumper stickers for this situation. I saw them on break.com IIRC.

I laughed.

My buddy was just telling me that he was in the hospital where I work visiting his grandmother when he went to leave he saw a moron in a Dually pulling next to his miata. the rear hump fender was completely behind the miata...to which he screamed "WTF" apparently the owners of said dually weren't the brightest bulb in the box, as they didn't move... I told him his tire iron would have removed the fender... he was nicer than I'd have been...and inched his way out.

People like that are why I can't bring my Lotus to work.

That kind of crosses the line over to potentially illegal though. The site specifically warns people not to make stickers out of them because there could be legal consequences.

as long as it doesn't damage the vehicle, nope.

basically, slap in on the drivers window.

That site is trying to cover its own rear...even though legally it probably isnt. as verbage is very important in the legal world.

Personally I avoid touching other peoples property, however if their parking kept me from leaving, I'd move their car for them, in what ever manner necessary. I see it as they have the right to park like an ass, until they infringe on my right to come and go as needed. once they cross that line, all is fair.

I guess that would be true. They probably do it to cover their butts cuz people tend to be stupid and wouldn't think about where might cause damage and where will not.

yup.

In a house I used to live in the local YMCA that was like a half block away had a huge event. Almost every house on my street had driveways blocked by people that did not want to walk a short distance. I called the local PD and they told me that they were aware and that tow trucks were on the way. Within an hour, the street was pretty much clear.

Thanks awesome Jeff.

Anyone know if you can do anything about people who parallel park right up on your front and back bumpers so its impossible to get out?

My DJ is really small, so when jackwagons park in two spaces like that I park in one. The DJ fits, and I got no doors :)

Parked next to a vette once... came out and the guy is literally slamming his door into my DJ over and over. the end of his door is hitting my door sill, which is maybe an inch tall, and a tad more solid than his.

Asked him what he was doing, an he told me to go to **** and tried to leave, but his door wouldn't close...

I called the MP's, and we all had a good time watching his $50,000 car get hoisted on a flatbed and the door get duct taped closed...
