Novak transfercase cable shifter conversion kit

Novak's NP / NVG Shifter Assembly for Jeeps
I was just wondering if anyone else has upgraded to this, in place of the maze of linkage rods that comes stock?
I Replaced the linkage about a month ago and it works fairly well. But the only problem i have with it is when i shift into 4Lo i have to hold it all the way back against the plastic and accelerate for a moment to have it lock in place. Ocasonally it wont stay ln place and pop back out into neutral.
Just wondering if it was something common or just me and what i can do about it if anything. Thanks for any replies and advice.

I upgraded my last TJ (stolen in March) to Novak's older non-cable shifter before the cable version came out and it was a pretty cool upgrade. But their newer cable shifter is, according to several very astute buddies, a great (!) upgrade. They said it provides a very smooth way to control the t-case. It apparently makes Novak's old linkage type shifter like I installed a few years ago feel very crude and stiff by comparison.

Wow, im sorry to hear that your jeep was stolen Jerry. The cable shifter is very smooth, i cannot speak on comparison to other novak shifters but compared to stock its night and day, atleast this actually works on my jeep.

Old post but 4lo is still a problem for me, any Ideas? If i try to shift into 4lo it will make a terrible grinding noise sometimes and I give up for fear of breaking it. I would like to do some off roading this spring and need 4lo to be working and not popping out every time its engaged.
