Go to Tirerack.com and punch it in. They will give you the factory size and alternative sizes. I would definitely go with duratracs! I love mine but I have 15" steelies and I got 31". You could get 33" for sure.

Oh and I paid about $140 each delivered (free delivery) from 4Wheel Parts. They were on a 2 month back order about this time last year.

For now im stock most likly going with a 2.5 lift in the summer. Where can i get the tires on the stock rims though.

The 275/70R18 would be the best size to run on your stock wheels if you are planning on leveling your Jeep out this coming summer. Unfortunately, these are on back order at this time. I can however order in the 275/65R18 size now if you are interested. These are basically the same overall diameter as your stock tires and about 3/4" wider. ETA would be roughly 7-10 business days. If you are interested give us a ring at 1.888.459.4080, Anyone here would be happy to help you.

Where can I get a set of tires i got online put on the stock rims?

any tire shop would put the tires bought on line on to your rims I would assume. Check with a local mechanic or firestone pep boys or what have you.

A lot of places I have been to, will NOT put on tires if you didn't buy them at their shop or at their online affiliate. Some of the smaller/family run shops might be more willing to do it. I have had some luck that way.

Hi Guys! Was doing my research for my JK and chose the Duratrac. I have read and read the forum for an answer and I can't find a definitive one. I have a stock setup with the stock Moab rims (255/75R17). I bought 265/70R17. Would I have been able to run the 285/70R17s stock? The guy at the tire joint was trying to talk me out of the 265 because they didn't match his computer. I would've loved bigger tires but I was afraid of rubbing as this is my DD. Did I make the right choice? BTW.. 2 week wait as Goodyear is out and needs to manufacture more. Also I want to get a 2" lift after the winter season. TIA!

The 285/70-17 size will work on your application and this tire size is approved for your factory 17x7.5" wheels.

The 265/70-17's are shorter than your stock tire so if you can, I would swap them for the 285/70-17's.

Matt, how will the power/mpg loss be in a 2-door jk when going from a stock 255/75/17 to a 285/70/17 duratrac?

Jet6122 12-04-2010 09:34 PM

Addition, it's an auto with 3:73 gear ratio

It's tough to accurately gauge but I would say somewhere between 2-5 mpg. The 285's are wider creating a little more rolling resistance and the 285/70 DuraTrac weighs 11.25lbs more when compared to the 255/75-17 OE KMs.

Thanks for the info. My driving habits will prob keep me on the 2 end hopefully. There is a ton of threads on 35's and power/mpg loss. Hadn't seen many addressing 33's.
