New guy from Ohio

Hello, I have a 94 wrangler and the instrument panel lights don't work. Some genius cut the wires and removed the dimer switch. I have a new switch but after hooking it up and checking fuses they still don't work. Any idea what to try? Is there a way of knowing if the lights are blown? Thank for any help!

Welcome to the forum. I bought a nice dash panel and set of gauges from these guys and they have a diagram of the wiring on their web site.

Thanks, I checked out the site. Very cool gauges. I was hoping not to have to resort to that yet. None of the interior lights work. Seems like it should be tied to a fuse?? The fuses under the dash are ok. Fuses under the hood look okay, not sure if it could be a relay. I don't have to much trouble fixing mechanical things but electrical problems... I don't have a clue.
Thanks again for the input! I appreciate it.

Rusty, leaking fuel filter

Quick question. I need to replace the fuel filter along the frame rail of my 94. It's leaking slightly and rusted pretty bad. I'm picking up the part tonight but I believe it's high pressure line so does that mean I cannot use rubber hose to connect if the line at the fuel filter is bad? If so are there compression fitting for that?
I appreciate the info!!

On the dash light problem, if you are sure the fuse panel is good and fuses are good, check the connection at the light switch. As far as the gas filter, the connections are with hoses, just make sure to use hose made for fuel lines.......there is some pressure in the line so be prepared..

I had similar dash light and gauges didnt work issue Turned out to be corroded wires leading from connector backside to cluster. On the fuel filter I replaced my 95 2.5 liter filter And it uses 2 rubber hoses from stainless line to filter and from filter to stainless line that runs over to tank.

I had the same prob with lights. Mine ended up being the dimmer switch. I Played with it for a but and it turned on. I just dint mess with it now and it works like a champ.

Thanks for the tips!! I inherited a lot of things that some previous owners did not fix right. I bought a new switch and it didn't fix the problem. I checked and I'm getting power to the switch. I didn't check where they connect with the cluster. Where is that?
I just bought the hose I needed for the fuel filter and it ended up being two different sizes. Hopefully after these problems are done I can enjoy driving it.

Thanks again for all the input it's been a huge help!

The fuel line hose and return hose are 2 different sizes on my 95yj, I had to pull the cluster with spedo and tach all the way out if the dash. Mine has 1 d-shaped connected that feeds the tach the spedo and the idiot lights. Coming off the connected is 2 ribbon cables. I found 4 of the ribbon lines broken. I solder jumper wires and now every thing in the cluster works. Someone else mentioned some metal conductor paint instead of jumper wire. I guess you use it to fix rear defrosters.
