Need advice to lift my 1998 Wrangler
I have a 1998 Wrangler Sahara (automatic transmission).
It has only 25K miles on it (Yes, 25K miles in 12 years!).
It is my toy, and I only drive in the city and highway - no off roading!

Now, I wanted to lift it by 2-3 inches, and put bigger tires. Presently, it
has stock 30x9.5 15 tires.

Question: I will like to put 32 or 33 inch tires, how much lift will be needed?
Question: Can I do it using only coil spacers? Approx. cost?
Question: Do I need to change shocks? Anything else?
Question: What is coil lift? Do I need it, and what is the cost?

I will like reasonable cost of this lift - stay below $500 or so. Is it possible?

In spite of the fact that I have owned this Jeep for 12 years, I do not know much about technical terms, etc. So, please help me.

Many manufactures have "budget boost" lifts out there. RE is one such company and they usually come with shocks. RE7030 is a decent one. Or you could get a set of take off springs from someones Rubicon after they have upgrade really inexpensively and spend the money on nice shocks.

Most spacer systems will ride a litter stiffer than stock. Mine did on the '05 Rubicon.

Let me know if you want one of those kits.

I think you could run a 2" BB lift with a 1" BL and be able to fit 33's fine. But depending on the backspacing on your wheels you may have rubbing issues no matter how high you lift it. Also you may have to re-gear depending on what set up you have now. Just some food for thought, there is more to running 33's than just a lift. Good luck and let us know if you have more questions.

I have 265x75x17's (32's) with no lift. They run fine. I may put a 2" space later. Keep in mind you probably have a 3.07 axle ratio
