What I did to my YJ today

So after my long list of things to do for my jeep, I finally got the sway bar disconnects installed. I haven't tested them but I have noticed the appearance to be much different. For some odd reason I feel like I can take on the world. I am stock, though I run on 31" tires so it makes me wonder. hmmm.... Anywho...I will be trying to find the bushings for the JKs telescopic tracbar I've acquired to install in the next few days. I have pictures just need to extract them from my phone.

Info on the dicos, it was a pain in the behind to remove them!! That's all I can say about that. Installation was a cinch and I cannot wait to go "flexing" soon.

As I mentioned before I have cleaned the carb and valve cover, they were covered in heavy grease and grime and oil and dirt and basically everything under the sun. I'll post pics tomorrow. I'm getting summoned by the woman to come to bed. It's 0230am. hmmm.... ;-)

Today I finished lining the inside of the cabin with the DIY liner stuff. Looks and feels so much better. Only a few more touch ups and the top of the fenders then I'm all done.

Well...I bought YJ #3 about 3 weeks ago for a plow jeep, and this is where it's at now. Had to black it all out, even if I only use it to plow with. Got new snow tires and cheap generic knock off's of soft 8's. Looks good, and the wheels were only $39 each.

I took my dash apart today and removed 15 years of dust off the gage faces and then polished the plastic cover back to like new, reasimbled, then I just had to drive it for a wile, just to make sure it was working right, only took it out for about and hour, then I had to wash it:D

I finished ripping mine apart today and it is all done to the bare chassis and suspension. Preping it for sanblasting and repainting but it is raining all weekend so looks like next week some time for the sandblasting and painting.... Fun fun!!!

Today I fixed a tranny leak. The rear seal went out and leaked between the tranny and T-Case. Not to bad of a job but sure am happy it was not something worse. :punk:

Drove mine to work (graveyard) in a cold rain. :(

Hey fellas. New to the site. Just checking out other rides. There is some nice jeeps out there. Here is a pic of my '93 YJ.

In the last month or so I have DIY lined the interior, added the flush mount led tails (harbor freight cheapos), replaced the valve cover gasket, installed one inch lift boomerang shackels, and tried to get the hard sliders to line up with no luck at all.

RSC17 12-12-2010 10:07 AM

got any picture of the hf led tails?

I'll get some night time pics tonight. My family came down to visit this weekend and we all went out to dinner last night they followed me home and said they were obnoxiously bright every time I hit the brakes. Also they must have a built in resistor or something because they do not do the rapid fire turn signal trick.

Looks good! BTW, nice to see another KY jeeper!

not to be a dick but are they not equal to each other? the right one looks higher. might just be the picture.

JDGROVER 12-12-2010 12:50 PM

Made my stock 15 gallon gas tank a 20 gallon tank free and it only took 30 min

I think its the picture I used the stock tail light mounting holes as a guide they do look cockeyed in that pick don't they. Now you've made me want to go measure them.

crunch 12-12-2010 01:41 PM

4 inches from the lip on the tub to the top of the light on both. I was worried there for a sec

RSC17 12-12-2010 01:52 PM

good to hear they are correct, just wanted to point that out. sometimes pictures skew things.

well im not exactly sure but i think it from 1990 to 97 chrysler used a 20 gallon tank but they extended the vent tube about 7 inches down into the tank so you can only fill it up to 15 gallons. if you google wrangler 15 to 20 gallon gas tank conversion there are a couple of pages that tell you how to do it.

Fazed 12-12-2010 03:04 PM

Thanks again!

This wasn't today but recently. I installed a bumper/tire carrier, got a rim, 20 bucks and a spare. Before this I was rocking no tire carrier or spare. I felt naked and once the addition it gave me the sense that I can go anywhere and not be afraid of getting a flat.

It also adds some beefiness look to the jeep.

MMata77 12-13-2010 10:09 AM

I took her out to play in the snow for the first time last night. Does that count for any thing

1990_YJ 12-14-2010 07:40 PM

Today I purchased a set of Olympic rock sliders/steps. I got them used, took off my old rusted and worn out nerf bars, dry fitted them and tomorrow will be a very productive day. I will be installing them rock crawling side since I don't need the step. Last time I went off road I got stuck and the old nerf bar bottomed out. There was no more room for me to go so the addition of a few inches will help me. Posting pics tomorrow.
