Jeep Newb - Need Advice on TJ Build Up!
I have a 2006 Black TJ, auto, stock, that I bought last year. Finally getting around to a lift and a tire/wheel upgrade! I have my mind made up on two things; 32 x 11.5 x 15 BFG All-Terrains with a 2" lift. What I do not know for sure yet are my wheel and lift choices...
I want the classic wheel look (like Mickey Thompson Classic II alloys). I have this look already stock but need the backspacing for tire clearance. Any input on this style wheel would be great.
I am leaning towards an OME or Rubicon Express 2" lift just based on WF threads. Just want some more opinions. New coils vs. spacers? Brands?
Also would like advice on anything else that may be necessary with this build, transfer case drop, etc.
The Jeep is a 65th Anniversary Edition so I believe I have the Dana 44 rear end. The gears are 3.73 also.
I am a quality type guy who wants the good stuff! I am not running on a strict budget but would like good quality at a decent value. Right now this is my daily driver but will get out to the trails once the upgrade is done. Plus a few of the guys at work are building up their Jeeps so I kinda have to compete. Darn!

I'm doing the same upgrade right now. I went with the TJ/LJ OME Ultimate Kit from Dirk at DPG Offroad. Here's a link to the page that lists the contents of the kit. Ultimate Kit
Can't tell you yet how it rides or preforms because this is what it looks like as of an hour ago. I went with 33x12.50x15s and the wheels are Pro Comp 1069 series. (15x8) Just received the lift today, and already have the rear buttoned up save for the trackbar adjustment. I should have the front finished up by this time tomorrow if everything goes well. Installation has been very straight forward. :cool:

Are you wanting to keep your stock wheels or get new ones like the MT Classics? There are a number of companies out there that make similar style wheels, Eagle Alloy is one that comes to mind instantly.
As far as the lift goes, you have a 2006, so the springs shouldn't have sagged much. Spacers would be more than enough to get the lift you want, but your stock springs will continue to sag. So it depends on how much you want to spend... but set aside most of your budget for good shocks like the RE mono-tube or some OME Nitrochargers.
