Yay! New jeep project to start soon

After a year the ole ladys truck is about to come out of the warm shop! I am excited to get on to something else. Although I have 2 vehicles ahead of my jeep project, its getting closer hehe. I have toyed around with doing a couple of them at one time, just dunno if I can afford parts for all of them at once.

SUBZEROCOOL 11-30-2010 11:27 PM

I can't finance a trip to the zoo at the moment w/ the hollidays and all. Dont know how you do it

distortedtj 12-01-2010 07:01 AM

WTF....you can't say you finished a project and not post pictures.

:p

Ibuildembig 12-01-2010 08:55 AM

Well sub the long and the short of it is....I don't do anything else lol. I work, I go home and work in the shop. I buy and sell jeeps/parts to help finance my projects, and I do fab work for others....just a ton of work to make it all happen man.

Distorted...I don't have any pics of it outside yet since its been raining here...but here's some of it almost completed.

Ibuildembig 12-01-2010 09:05 AM

Thanks, only thing I lack is alignment, have one scratch that I put on it fixed, and installing the tailgate (which is a secret to her...I had some artwork done on it that she doesnt know about)

jgano23 12-01-2010 09:07 AM

sweet truck!

Ibuildembig 12-01-2010 10:22 AM

Thanks :) She's on my butt to get it out of the shop so she can drive it again before it gets too nasty down here

cavediverjc 12-01-2010 10:57 AM

Sweet ride! I didn't know they made 1 tons with shortbeds.

Ibuildembig 12-01-2010 11:00 AM

Never can get one past you can I?

They never did in 97, and never a flareside. It started out life as a shortbed f250. We swapped the bed since the stock one was junk and she wanted something different that anyone else. And if you know about me well enough, everything I own has a 60 front axle in it...so it was only fitting that I put one in hers too....soooo, now she's a 1 ton truck :)

Gotcha. :D Very nice ride. :punk:

What's the drivetrain? Sweeten the deal and tell me it has a 7.3. :D

Ibuildembig 12-01-2010 04:05 PM

1991 Ford High pinion kingpin Dana 60 front axle, 1996 10.25 Sterling rear axle, both with 3.54 gears. Rear has a trak-lock. 6" all spring lift. 7.3 powerstroke with scheid injectors, custom chip, larger turbo housing, 3.5" downpipe with 5 inch all the way out, and intercooler. ZF5 with upgraded internals and Southbend clutch....think thats about it for drivetrain....after all, can't too crazy when its the ole lady's rig hehehehe

redjeeper 12-03-2010 10:25 PM

cool truck.

Nice, I'm a 7.3 fan. If you said it has the little ol' gasser in it I would of been disappointed.

Ibuildembig 12-04-2010 10:31 PM

lol nah I have a big block in my beater F350...its fun, but doesnt smoke and she likes that part of it

SUBZEROCOOL 12-04-2010 11:31 PM

Lifted tub bed flair side f-350... this is bad a$$, trick truck Ibuildembig. Here in Nor Cal that truck would fetch top dollar, rice farmers have big loot.

Ibuildembig 12-05-2010 08:50 AM

Yeah for some reason the 95-7 body styles have held their value and appear to keep it. I seriously doubt we will ever sell it as it would take stupid money for her to let it go. We are going to pick it up from having one scratched fixed tonight....I'm gonna take some pics of the suprise while it happens if I can.

Ibuildembig 12-05-2010 10:29 PM

Well here are the final pictures she took when we got it home....

Custom paint job of our doggies we had to lay to rest earlier this year. I had this done while the truck was at paint in august and kept it a secret from her until tonight. He by far does some of the best work I have ever seen.

Sharp bud. The mural is a nice touch.

Ibuildembig 12-06-2010 10:09 AM

Thanks, it got quite a reaction when she saw it from the first time last night

Bush_Coon 12-09-2010 04:54 PM

HOLEY TOLEDO, thats a mean truck, hate to be the prius in the road when that puppy rolls thru. thats a daily driver for the missus?

Ibuildembig 12-09-2010 04:56 PM

NAh she has a Grande Cherokee (hospice nurse that drives alot)....she will drive it on nice days

Bush_Coon 12-09-2010 05:00 PM

that truck is easily custom truck show material.

Ibuildembig 12-09-2010 05:02 PM

I dunno bout that, I've had a few in magazines (the yellow one behind it will be I am fairly certain)....it has way better paint that most of them I have, but there are still things that need attention
