Uni-Strut for a Roof Rack System?
I have seen many different posts about using Explorer or Cherokee roof rack systems and trimming them up to fit a wrangler hardtop, which I think is an awesome idea. However, I am just curious why no one would have thought to do the same thing but instead using strut channel or uni-strut? I mean of course you would have to paint it so it wouldn't rust, but with the insane quantity of different mounting hardware that you can get for it from mcmaster.com, I would think this would be a cool option.
Now strut channel is much beefier than the roof rack systems off of the before mentioned vehicles, and that might not suit the aesthetic needs of some, but purely just for the use of the roof rack, wouldn't this work?
