Windshield Light Mount - Lights still stick out?
I currently have cheap $25 lights mounted to my jeep up by the windshield. I practically always take my top and doors off (and mirrors). The lights stick out the side of the jeep just a little.

These lights are always taking the first hit of shrubs, brush, trees, rocks, etc. I've put them through a good beating.

I have no care - since they were only $25.

Low and wife got me PIAA 520 ADP lights for xmas. They are like $300 for the set. As you could imagine, I don't want these lights to take any damage.

Anyone have a solution to move these lights further in? Has anyone made a custom piece which allows these lights to be relocated further in (by a couple of inches)?

Just buy some flat steel at the hardware store and cut it to the length you want. Drill a hole to mount it to the light bracket with a nut and bolt and a 1/2" hole on the other end to mount the light. They will be more in you line of vision through the windshield though.

Get covers. Simple fix lol.

Unless you are driving that close to trees, brush and limbs will only scratch the covers, I'm sure most the time youre offroad will be during the day. And if not they have ones that the light still shines though.

As for covers, they come with a grill. So did my other ones but those grills are all cracked. I'd like to keep these grills intact too.

I was thinking about the flat steel. My only gripe with that is that its going to rust up. So that means I'm going to have to powder coat it. Why are small little solutions always so expensive?

When it rusts just replace it or paint it with rust resistant paint
