Rampage top w half doors??

Just wanted to see if the Rampage top worked with the half doors?
I am really thinking my next soft top will be the Rampage... I just really like the fact of being able to ditch the hardware and the and the slopped back ;)
Any negatives with the Rampage top Ive over looked?

Should work just the same as with full doors... The Rampage top uses factory door surrounds, doesn't it? If so, then I see no reason it shouldn't work.

I have the viking top (the ones that made the top before rampage) and I run half doors with no issues. It uses the door surrounds so it all works out. I love the top though. I like not having all of the hardware to create the tops structure. Just zip it on and its good to go. The only hardware you will need is the header bar, tailgate bar, and door surrounds.

I just bought mine, and should be on my door step on the 31st.

If you have factory door surrounds, and factory tailgate bar...all you'll need to buy extra is the windshield header.

Took me a while to choose the top i was going with. Started with softopper but they wont have their soft top that works with factory door surrounds out, till end of Jan...I couldn't wait.

So i went with Rampage..And i bought it thru Allens Off Road...was easy to deal with. He sent me my tracking info today, and i should receive the top by Friday!

I bought this:
97-06 Jeep Wrangler w/Soft Upper Doors, Black Diamond w/Tint 68535
And paid this:
$426.53 for the bowless and the header channel shipped.

I emailed Rampage to confirm some things and they replied with:

Adam,
The factory door surrounds and a tailgate bar (factory or
aftermarket) are required. The factory header channel will not work. You
need the aftermarket no drill header channel part number 901004 to complete
the install.

You're right, the Rampage top will only work with the aftermarket windshield channel, but fortunately that channel also works with all the other aftermarket bikini's and such out there.

They actually have two different versions of the frameless top, one with standard fabric and another that is the same thickness etc as the sailcloth.

InfernoGirl 12-28-2010 01:20 PM

I looked for the sailcloth version on your site and didn't see it Chris. Did I just miss it?

JeepAddOns-Chris 12-28-2010 03:36 PM

Nope, I didn't have them on there when you looked. It should be on there now though. Thanks for pointing it out for me! I'm thinking in the neighborhood of around $400 shipped for the upgraded Sailcloth and even less than that for the standard fabric? :)

Cons_Table 12-28-2010 03:44 PM

I wish these tops were that cheap when I got mine. I got mine when it was still a fairly new item (still under the viking name) and it was like a 700 dollar top...dont think its even sailcloth :banghead: :(

I love my Rampage top so much that I haven't put the hard top on this winter. Sure, it makes some flapping around sounds above 60 mph but it's a Jeep, right?
