care for soft top

I did some research of old threads but really didnt find what I was looking for. I have an 06 x with a soft top....is there a conditioner or something I should use on the soft top to prevent sun damage. I heard somewhere that babyoil is good but the petroleum in that would seem bad to me. any suggestions would be great.

no one has any suggestions?

I don't guess I have any suggestions. The baby oil works great before you go mud ridin' though. Get some in a spray bottle and spray everywhere under the chasis and anywhere else you can. It'll keep mud from stickin' and it'll spray off much easier.

Ive tried everything, Armorall, tire wet, ect. . They all make it look good until it rains. Then you have to deal with the stuff streaking and smearing the windows. The best stuff i have used is lemon pledge. Makes the top look good and it hides the scratches in the windows and does not streak.

There are products from Bestop in the Quadratek catalogue. I found it online, but do not know how to share the link. There is a cleaner and a protectant. Never tried it yet though.

I'm new to this. I just got a bikini, windjammer, and duster. I plan on treating it just as a tent. A quality silicone application twice a year should probably double or triple the life of the top. I'll let you know in a few years

303 Protectant. That stuff is nearly incredible and I seldom say stuff like that. 303 not only protects against UV, it'll make the fabric look like new. I first discovered it in a boating store but it's also sold in RV stores. It also does an amazing job on even fiberglass boat hulls, it made my dull/coated with hard water deposits boat hull and deck look like new again.

I swear by 303. It's not inexpensive but it's really incredibly good stuff. :)

I use 303 Protectant on mine, but after I've used Folex. I got some of that at Home Depot and it does a pretty good job of getting dirt outta the fabric. The 303 protectant helps keep it from fading.

thanks. I found the stuff in my Quadratec catalogue that came today...I will also look into the 303. Thanks for all the responses.

But it won't make your Jeep float.

You've been warned. ;)
