Todays Snowy Adventure Pics

Here's a few shots of our trip today. It was unreal how much the chains on the back helped out. Two guys were not chained up, both got stuck pretty good!! (full size trucks though)

No, 1 guy had help on the way & there was a dodge trying to get the other one out when we found him.
Neither wanted our little jeep to get involved, lol
Neither had chains either. I can't imagine being on those icy, steep, cliff ridden roads w/o tire chains.
We only hung them on the back but a couple of times I wished we would have put them on the front too. I just puckered up a bit, we got through it just fine with just the rear end chained up. Amazing where this thing will go chained up. Go JEEP!!!:punk:

I'd be weary of getting pulled out by chains but not by a Jeep.

We had our 30' recovery strap & gear. Talking about tire chains.

:punk: I love snow wheeling.

Was looking at the picture of all the chains on the front bumper.

XJ Knight 01-05-2011 01:04 PM

I thought the same thing ESP.. Then realized those were his tire chains as they didn't look like a recover set up..

ktm102392 01-05-2011 02:42 PM

nice tires!!:p

I hear ya, it's fun to come home with a clean Jeep instead of a muddy or dusty one, lol.

Ya, I just hung them there so I wouldn't get all the snow in the Jeep.

It was beautiful up there. Here's a little mule deer that we found trying to find something to nibble on in the snow. It was 14 degrees.

We are north of Grand Junction Colorado on top of the Bookcliff Mountain Range. About 25 miles from our house. Took 16 Rd due north to access the mountains.

Sweet pix man

Thanks, ya the goatee comes off on a regular basis. We love the outdoors & I enjoy hangin the iron. Wheelin on the frozen earth is fun cause you have the place to yourself & the jeep doesn't even get dirty. No mud or dust to worry about.

First got hooked on Jeeps down in Colo Springs/Fort Carson over 30 years ago-the mountain sunshine brings back some old memories-thanks for sharing- I need to get west again.

JakeRupp 01-17-2011 10:34 AM

Nice looking Jeep you have there! Wish I would get all my parts in so I could go have fun in some snow.

millfire517 01-17-2011 09:14 PM

Wow looks fun!!! I wish we could get a couple good snow falls here. Seems lately all we get is 2-3 inches at a time.

Thanks. I don't know why I like chaining it up so much, lol. I hate wondering if I'm going to make it up a slippery hill, & I get a kick out of going places that bare foot 4x4's can't. Also, it takes less than 10 minutes to chain up two tires, no big deal.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that likes to get out in the snow.

We enjoy it a lot. Might go up in the Mountains again in the next couple days. We love to explore & there are endless roads around here.
Have a good one.

I hope you get dumped on. I wish we would get hammered here in town. Have to go to the hills, at least they're still snow packed & close by.
Have fun & be safe!!

Forecast say 2-4 inches tonight, and we have it still laying, spotty in some places but I know the mountain has more so, tomorrow hoping to have some fun ;)

It looks very nice where you ride.

I hope you get to go & take some pics. If you don't start a thread you're more than welcome to post em in here. I'd love to see them.
We may go out tomorrow & look for Elk. I'll see if I can get out of bed in time. That's been an issue on my days off lately, lol.
