Trip to Disney, Oklahoma

I would like to get a group of people together for a mid to late June or early to mid July weekend trip or 2-3 day (through the week)trip to Disney, Oklahoma. If anyone is interested, please leave a comment. I was planning to go to Moab Utah, but the cost and timing to get there did not work out for me this year. That is why I am planning a trip closer to home.

hannahuffster 01-05-2011 01:52 PM

Would be happy to join you on your trip. Have you ever been? It is a very fun and challenging park with lots to offer! I imagine I could round up a group of locals that would love to go also! If you are ever in our area you could make a day of our club's exclusive off-road park also. It is almost 400 acres with everything the "big-boy" parks have to offer only in a smaller package. It is a fun day for the stock jeep to the most challenging obstacles that have yet to be conquered by the super modified! It has cliffs, rocks, mud, water crossings, chat (aka missouri sand), everything rolled into a neat little package.

No I have never been, but I have done off-roading for several years. Since you have been to Disney...is it a family oriented place or is it generally pretty rough (people getting a little too crazy)?

hannahuffster 01-05-2011 04:32 PM

I have never seen it get out of control myself. I have never camped there though I have seen the campground and they are more than suitable for family events. The adventure park is huge. You cant see the whole thing in just a couple days. How far away from there are you <about>?

toshpate 01-05-2011 04:34 PM

I have been and indeed it is awesome. I may can go. I will get the guys from arkansas that went last time and maybe my little old yj will be bandaged enough to go. or maybe just maybe I can get an axle on the cj and trailer it

MR.CLIFFORD 01-05-2011 04:42 PM

I'll steal the wife's rig and go. :D

samnmax 01-05-2011 04:49 PM

I'd be up for going if y'all don't mind helping out a young padawan... Hopefully I'll have my axles or my lift installed by summer.

toshpate 01-05-2011 04:50 PM

well I saw stock jeeps doing stuff. there were some deep water and mud holes

only picture I got sorry. the wheeling parts are below the dam so if there has been a lot of rain or they have recently released water then its watery and muddier then usual

hannahuffster 01-05-2011 05:06 PM

There is definitely something for everybody there. Nice trails further away from the dam and more rock than you can handle the closer you get to the dam...

Ageless Stranger 01-05-2011 05:15 PM

I'd like to wheel Disney sometime.

toshpate 01-05-2011 05:20 PM

well come on down to green country. you can go wheel then go float the river with me and whomever else wanted to go here in quah. sure there is quiete a few okie and arkansas and even kansas people to get a crew together

MR.CLIFFORD 01-05-2011 05:29 PM

I took my wife's stock TJ a couple years back and we had a blast!

According to Google maps, 222 miles :)

hannahuffster 01-06-2011 06:27 PM

Sounds great! I am only about 70 miles away.

Martinez_Coins 01-09-2011 10:48 AM

I might be up for that, I havenít been there before but have heard good things.

Tj Timmy 01-09-2011 03:02 PM

I might be up for it also, depending on the dates, I've for a week off for the 4th of
July so if it was then I'd be game for sure!

OklaTJ 01-09-2011 03:25 PM

That would be fine by me we all need to say when we could be there and go from there.

hannahuffster 01-10-2011 07:33 PM

If you are leaning 'tword the first of July, I am free from the 6th to the 11th. So a trip during those dates would work great for me...

MR.CLIFFORD 01-10-2011 10:31 PM

Everyone needs to go to Disney for the Big Meats Run March 11,12,13!!!!

toshpate 01-10-2011 10:35 PM

And that is? I have a concert to go to for my birthday

That is only the biggest event held every year at Disney to kick off the wheelin season. This is the 11th year of the BMR.

The BMR sounds great, but this thread is geared toward June or July. If you want to go in March that's fine. I have kids in school and can't go until this summer. From the looks of it I will be going the first part of July and staying for about 7 days. Thanks for your replies.

Me and mine will camp and cook out wile there.I'm going to look and see if they have a fireworks show,if not I will bring some and set them off. That is if they let me lol. I'm looking to have a good meet and wheeling time. Hope to see all of you :)

distortedtj 01-15-2011 11:58 AM

Oh, let me check the calender.

Ludicrous 01-15-2011 01:35 PM

I would be down on this, as long as my Stock '10 JK can handle it. All i have ever seen pic wise from Disney is crazy Rock crawling. If there are some stuff my stock rig can do i am in.
