Poison Spyder Brawler Lite Front Bumper for JK

The Poison Spyder Brawler Lite front bumper for JK is a "mid-width", high clearance bumper designed to combine hard core off-road performance with full features. This bumper is fabricated from 3/16" plate steel, CNC laser-cut and precision brake-formed into a low profile, high clearance design. The ends of the bumper extend far enough to protect the lower corner of the JK grille, but not far enough to hinder tire clearance or tire access to vertical obstacles.

The optional Brawler Bar is modeled after the bar found on our original RockBrawler™ front bumper. It is a low-profile stinger designed to provide protection to the winch, grille and radiator area. The Brawler Bar is made of CNC laser-notched, NC-bent 1¾" diameter .120" wall DOM tubing. The complex laser-cut notch allows the Brawler Bar to be welded to two different planes on the surface of the bumper, providing incredible strength. Further strengthening the Brawler Bar are a choice of two different gussets—laser-notched 1½" DOM tubular gussets or CNC laser-cut brake-formed 3/16" plate steel gussets. The bumper may also be ordered without gussets.

For convenience in mounting off-road auxiliary lights, two light tabs are included along the top of the Brawler Bar. These may be optionally deleted.

Unlike the Poison Spyder BFH™ series bumpers for JK, the Brawler Lite can be mounted without cutting or altering the Jeep's frame rails. The faceted design of the Brawler Lite provides the best ground clearance and approach angle possible in a bumper that doesn't require frame modifications. The factory "Crash Bar" may be left intact or removed for a sleek appearance and high clearance. If keeping the crash bar, we recommend adding the Brawler Lite Skid Plate (shown below, sold separately), which conceals the crash bar and protects the electronic sway bar disconnect.

The Brawler Lite features recessed buckets to mount the factory fog lamps, fully protecting them in deep tubular sockets with direct-fit mounting flanges. Another thoughtful feature are the conveniently placed loom mounting holes, for reinstalling the "Christmas tree" loom hangers of the factory fog lamp harness.

Any winch with a standard 10" X 4.5" mounting pattern will bolt right on to the Brawler Lite. Beefy internal gusseting directly below the winch mount provides the strength to sustain long, heavy pulls. The center of the bumper, where the winch sits, is slightly recessed with the winch mounting on top, without compromising the structural integrity of the bumper by cutting a huge hole in the bumper structure to place the winch down inside like other manufacturer's bumpers. If mounting a winch, you'll need a Winch Fairlead Mount, sold separately.

Optional Recovery Shackle Tabs are modeled after the high clearance tabs designed for our hard core BFH series bumpers. These tabs are angle to provide maximum approach angle. They are CNC machined from 1" thick steel billet, specifically designed to accept our heavy duty 3/4" Recovery Shackles. Selecting this option will get you a pair of these tabs, expertly welded to the Brawler Lite bumper.

We are once again offering the optional DOM Tube Gussets on the Brawler Lite. These were an option a while back, then were only special order for a while. But now once again they are a standardized option and can be ordered this way through our website, by phone or through any of our dealers.

Note that the Warn PowerPlant winches are NOT a direct fit with the DOM Tube Gussets. The passenger side gusset is slightly in the way of the end of the winch housing. However, a PowerPlant may be mounted (as shown on the Rockett Rubicon in the photo above), with some small modifications to the bumper by the installer.

Here are some pre-production photos of the Trail Stinger option we will be making available for the Brawler Lite. Like the Brawler Bar we currently offer, the Trail Stinger will come with plate steel gussets (the ones shown in the photo are temporary, we're doing some small revisions to it for the Trail Stinger). We may also offer a tube gusset option, like we do with the Brawler Bar, if there is sufficient interest. These should be in production in a few weeks but we've been getting a few inquiries about it so we thought we'd post up a couple of photos.

The Brawler Lite with Trail Stinger is now available!

http://pix.poisonspyder.com/Products...-A-hires-L.jpg

This has been a popular request, and we're glad to finally release it. Like the Brawler Bar, the Trail Stinger is made out of CNC laser notched, NC-bent 1.75" OD .120 wall DOM tubing. We considered a couple of different plate gusset designs but in the end decided it looked best--and would be strongest--with some DOM tube gussets instead (there is no plate gusset option offered). Pricing is the same as the Brawler Lite with Brawler Bar. See our website or your favorite Poison Spyder dealer to order yours!

We knew you would want to see it mounted on a Jeep before pulling the trigger on one, so we temporarily installed it on one of the project Jeeps we currently have in the shop. We'll post up some shots of powder coated, finish-installed-with-winch as soon as we can. In the meantime...

For those purchasing a Brawler Lite and wanting to run a pair of Rigid Industries Duallys or Dually D2's in the fog lamp buckets instead of the factory fog lamps, we're now offering the Rigid/BDF mounting kit designed for this purpose.

BTW these also work in the stock bumper or just about any aftermarket bumper that is designed to accept the factory fog lamps. Thanks!

How do these come?

Powdered coated black?

DTS 06-27-2012 10:07 AM

They come bare steel. You'll need to paint or powder coat them locally.

DirtyDawg 06-28-2012 12:02 PM

Had seen the stinger version on your site a few days ago. Glad you guys have now brought these into production. One question though: any plans to offer them with the plate gussets like on the brawler bar? Much better looking IMO, but I understand it may not have the necessary structural strength.

DTS 06-29-2012 10:58 AM

DirtyDawg, it could be made strong enough with plate gussets, although the DOM ones would still be stronger. We use plate gussets on the Trail Stinger version of our BFH bumpers. But it really boiled down to aesthetic considerations on our part. We simply didn't like the way it looked with the several versions of plate gussets we tried out for it. Right now there are no plans to offer the plate gusset as an option, however like anything else, if there's enough interest we can re-consider it.
