Hi JeeperJake,
How much do you need for them? Where are you located? I'm actually wanting a set like that. I use my JK to deliver the mail and those would be a good alternative to dorky mud flaps.
Thanks,
Lori

RSL:

I'm in Oregon. We can go to PM contact to discuss details if you like.

I don't know what the 'fair market value' of these are. Shipping shouldn't be too much considering the size/weight. I'll see what I can find as far as 'value' goes. Or you could make an offer including cost of shipping.

I paid my jeep dealer directly. I got my set for my 2 dr for $280 after tax. maybe they quoted you for installation too. I did it myself in 30 minutes

RB-10rubicon 01-09-2011 07:49 PM

I work for a dealership and i got them through fredbeans wholesale there located in doylestown pa

RubiJK12 01-10-2011 01:18 AM

I actually put them on my Rubicon to save the sides from mud, rocks, etc. They really do help protect the sides of the Jeep and act like mudflaps. I pull them off and put the rails on for the rocks and like "JKJeeper06" says, you can pull them off or put them on in 30 min. or less!

Just a thought, but in OR, you might want to reconsider to protect the sides of your Sahara. I do have to come home soon (to OR) and have mine on now. Please stop the rain for a few weeks.:)

My Jeep dealer matched an ebay price($267 which included the freight) for these side steps and I picked them up at 6:00 pm tonight. Had them on by 7:00 pm. The front wheels threw a lot of snow/slush on the doors and rear fender flares so I wanted something that would protect the body. I think they look great and are very functional for getting into the back seat.

DelRocini 01-11-2011 05:36 PM

I'll sell you mine for $270. 2007 JKU 12,000 miles of use.

Side Steps would be nice... half ways

I've got a 2010 Rubi I got in October, I've now got 3,000 miles on it and quite a few light scratches on the doors, paint chipped off on the front of the door hinges and the back flares all dinged and scratched just from normal driving on our gravel roads... I've got the stock Rock Rails on it, I like the look, but steps would act as nice gravel guards...

rics1997 01-11-2011 08:38 PM

I like the looks of the stock running board myself because it flows with the fenders. But I plan on getting rid of mine too because I plan on off roading. Need more armor just in case.

DelRocini 01-12-2011 06:58 PM

I'll take $200

bamajeeper 01-15-2011 08:04 PM

I just ordered my stock running boards from Amazon for 269.84. they cost 234 and 35 shipping. they come from a Jeep dealer in N.C. Best total deal i could find. I found some a little cheaper but shipping would kill the deal.I was wanting some rock rails but wanted some protection from rock chips on the hiway.....as the MT's throws those rocks.I will get the rock rails later and swap them out as needed.

Same thing happened to me. The $270 was for two door. I paid $450 for my four door. (Actually a little less).

JeeperJake 01-15-2011 09:13 PM

thanks for the tip on the chip situation....>I like how they look but not crazed on how they work for me.

Can't find the hoop-style "Carr" design for JK model. These are the single step 10-12" wide unit that hangs down a few inches lower than the running boards.

BTW, the previous vehicles I owned that had running boards, were a 1929 Model A sedan, and a 1953 Mercedes 170S prewar styled sedan. http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au...170s_sedan.jpg

Same here. I installed the stock running boards on my Rubi & it made a world of difference in keeping slush, mud, gravel chips, etc...off of my doors.

I was going to remove them when ever I went wheeling, but I have wheeled many times with them & they have never been a problem.

I like the way they look too......:blunt:

Sjeupie 01-16-2011 03:09 PM

Do the running boards actually have a function besides being a small step and mudguard? And are these the same type of running boards which saved only1phoenixx from a lot of damage? Cause then that's already a third function..

See that topic here: http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/dri...ent-76093.html

Before and after.

Reel Joy 01-17-2011 10:54 PM

We were going to take the factory boards off because they dont really help us get in the Jeep and we get mud on the back of our legs. After a day on the beach and getting in and out all day we found that we liked the steps for wiping our feet off before getting in and keeping the sand/mud/debris from flying up on the doors.

Mr.Dave 02-28-2011 07:01 PM

Does anybody here still have these for sale? Im looking into getting some

JeeperJake 02-28-2011 07:05 PM

not me.....sort of got used to them, they do tend to keep the crap off the sides

seadog 02-28-2011 07:21 PM

I'll keep mine on until I can afford something better. My wife parks in the driveway, and I park in a river-rock addition that my landlord put in. Every time i leave the yard, I get to hear rocks bouncing off the bottom of my Jeep. They have definitely saved my paint.
